Changed their name to Suburban Propane. They are difficult,, hard to work with,, EXPENSIVE ( $.20 above all the other companies) attitudes that you dont want to work with, and sales person down to secretary are ALL arrogant.. Stay away/

Do not do business with this company. I have not had an oil delivery from them since Dec 2010. I recently checked my credit reports because of a score I thought was lower than it should be. Come to find out, they submitted a claim to a collections agency for 304 dollars saying it was a balance I owed them from 2010. This supposed debt did not get reported to a collection agency until 2012. When I called to find out what this was all about, they told me I had an outstanding amount due for an oil delivery. Besides being incredibly rude and condescending to me on the phone, it turns out their math just doesn't add up. They said I received an oil delivery in 2010 for 227 gallons at 3.29 per gallon, which totals $747. They said I paid $750 towards my total bill of 988. Guess what the other $238 dollars is? The annual service contract which I told them I was canceling because I felt their rates were too high. So the bottom line is that today on the phone the manager told me the outstanding balance was for oil, when in fact it was for their service contract which i told them I didn't want back in 2010. Now two years later they have reported this to a collection agency, and it is now showing as a delinquent account on my credit report. And when I asked why I never received any notifications from them about trying to collect this $304, the manager claims they had been sending me bills in the mail, but I never received anything. This is an incredibly sleazy business practice, and I will be reporting it to the Better Business Bureau.
