A Fred & Deroma truck hit and impaled my car on 2/28/2023. My car was parked in front of my house in Jamaica Plain overnight. The companys truck backed straight into my parked car. The company has refused to process my insurance claim against them even through the driver never disputed that he hit my car. Very low character people who run this business. They are completely willing to screw you over

November 19, 2020 Dear Mr. DeRoma: We have tried communicating with you directly and you would not come to the phone but you informed the woman who answered your phone to tell us “not your problem/not your fault” when we called to discuss the issue we had with a huge piece of concrete left from the project your company did in front of our restaurant about month ago. First of all, no one informed us the sidewalk out in front would be torn up (where our customers walk). We knew nothing was planned to disrupt our flow of business until the digging began.  Water under the bridge now but this broken window is NOT….. We still have the piece of concrete and we have talked to the Engineers at the City and they definitely agree it is a piece from the old sidewalk, as we provided photos. I understand you have said that the window was not in the area of where the construction took place..of course not, they picked it up and brought it over to the area of the property that was hidden and dark on the side of the building in the driveway- away from the lights and cameras of Mass Ave. The Boston Police were notified when the window was broken. This has been nothing but a headache for us.  It was so unnecessary to happen - if the area had just been cleaned up fully in the first place by your crew.  But it wasn’t.  I got a call at 2:15 am in the morning waking me up, It was 2 weeks after my surgery and I was still not able to travel, the police were kind enough to have a company come and board up the window (that bill is over $350)  Now - we have a boarded-up window and it is cold in the building. The window will cost us probably $1800 to replace.  We can ill afford to do this with the business being down due to the COVID Pandemic. We are suffering tremendously financially now and paying out of our own pockets to keep our staff employed. The revenue we bring in does NOT cover anywhere near what it cost to operate or cover the rent and payroll. You say you have INTEGRITY right in your website.  This is not showing INTEGRITY to deny even filing a claim on behalf of something that was obviously the fault of your crew.  You would not even take the time to talk on the phone to us. No apology, no offer to look into it - no accountability - nothing!  You should understand that my family works very hard too and this is a big deal to us - maybe to you -  this is not a lot of money - it appears you have very big clients and a lot of jobs - but right now to us - this is a huge expense that we can ill afford to have when we are trying to make sure we can meet payroll every two weeks. The Engineer from the City of Boston said we should go through your insurance company and provided us the information to do so - the insurance company said you should file the claim yourself, we cannot go through them. Again - more of our time …….. they also said we can file a suit with the City…... I just called your offices and it went to voice mail.  I would hope you will do the right thing and please just cover the expense for the Board Up and the window replacement. Already this has taken up too much of our precious time. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Damian

Hi Nathan, sorry for your experience. Unfortunately accidents happen sometimes. It appears you may be misinformed regarding the insurance as the claim was reported on the day of the event. We have provided our insurance company all requested information and the claim has been filed. As you have the phone number to the insurance company, please feel free to contact them at your convenience to receive updates. We are proud to employ honorable, hard working people with a high level of integrity. These people are the core of our business.
