R Lerch Gallery

This gallery is full of amazing photography! The photos span more than three decades and focus on the beauty of New England (Massachusetts,Maine) and Ireland. I talked with the owner/photographer Robert Lerch and it was clear that he is passionate about his craft. He was kind enough to answer all my questions and give me advice as I'm learning the art of photography. This gallery is definitely worth a visit.

I have visited The Lerch Gallery on many different occasions, but never took proper time to wander in, browse the work (a very warm, beautiful and cozy environment within - perfect ambiance and lighting) - which is unique, beautiful work! Thankfully, I met the most kind, soft spoken and extremely accommodating artist/photographer in 2009. Bob met me outside of his gallery as he was carefully tending to his walkway, after a great chat, I made it inside to be blown away! Yes, I left that day with a beautiful photo - his technique is true art - in this day of digital shooting and photoshop, Bob uses old school photography and gear. The print I bought, "Schooner American Eagle #3" was the result of the photographer sailing in Maine and spending 3 days on the boat to wait for the perfect sunrise to capture the shot from the bow of the schooner looking towards a small island. Beautiful Work! Any reproduction you see online does not do the actual print / photograph justice! His gallery is a "must visit" when in Rockport!
