This woman is dishonest. She will run tests on your car and then give you an arbitrary price. She conned me out of $150. We agreed to meet and she was going to make 2 keys for me and the cost was going to be $150. She couldnt make the keys and spent the next hour just doing random things... NONE of which I agreed to. A price was never discussed nothing was ever discussed. After an hour goes by she cant get the keys to work. She then tells me that it's going to be $150 for the diagnostics. (she couldnt tell me why the keys dont work) I never agreed to any diagnostics for $150 if that was the case I would have brought it to the dealership. (where I have to go anyway) When I brought this up she started to get combative saying "this happens all the time people getting upset" Yes because she cheats people out of money. I paid her the $150 because she was making a scene in the parking lot and I didnt want to have to deal with it. I figured I could call her company and get some back end support. But that is not the case because she is back end support and she refuses to answer anyones calls on the matter. so now I am out $150 and I still have no keys. The worst part was during this diagnostic test she killed the battery on my car and then left me in the parking lot in the dark while I had to wait for a jump . If i could give this woman ZERO stars I would. I have never ever seen that level of unprofessionalism in my life. and just for the record I tried to pay the woman $75 for the hour of her time because I'm not trying to get things for free. But she decided that I owed her $150 for killing my battery and wasting my time. I've had to get corporate involved in this it's been so crazy Just save yourself the hassle and go to the dealership this woman is a scam Edit: I just want to add that in have talked to corporate.. They reimbursed me and it turns out they are building a case against this woman because she does this all the time... She won't be in business much longer. Nobody should have to deal with this. DO NOT GO TO THIS WOMAN!!!

Made a last-minute call for replacement key fob and Lisa fit me in the same day. She kept me informed of her arrival time throughout since she was coming a distance from a prior service call and wasn't sure of the traffic she might hit. Very professional and friendly. Would recommend her without hesitation.

Do not listen to the bad reviewer hiding behind the curtain. If your going to review a business, be a man, not someone with a fake name. Anyway, my son lost his only transponder key set for his 2006 VW GTI. As a mechanic with a shop, I have programmed and duplicated keys that were from the came from the OEM. No problem. As long as you have an original to duplicate. If you have no key to duplicate...game on. Other customers would come in with cut keys/transponders that they bought on Ebay, Amazon, etc. Over 50 percent were either not recognized by my diagnostic programmer ( hint: you got ripped off). or would not program to the vehicle ECU. Another 10-15 percent would program ok to open the door, but not start the car. Just because your old key worked, does not mean the new key will program. Software security issues with programming the car ECU are common. Access to the OEM programming software does not come free. Yearly subscriptions for every OEM can set you back 25K+ Programming foreign cars like VW / Audi are the most difficult and glitchy. Even dealers have had issues. Knowing this, I called the VW dealer that I had an account with. For the VW transponder key to be cut and then programmed to the VIN, was $390 Problem is.....the car would have to be towed to them for programming....20 miles away. Unless you have AAA it is is going to cost you some scratch. Plus 2 days at the shop, since they would have to order the transponder. Anyway, I called Lisa at Pop A Lock and she was very responsive. Was on time for the appointment, and although the car gave her problems (VW/ Audi are notorious for this) she cut two keys, one with the transponder and one valet for less than the dealer for just the transponder and no towing. All fixed. Mr. Omar, or whoever you claim to be, hope the someone figured out your problem. Unless your want to go to the dealer...Lisa will save your butt. Thank you Lisa.

This review is not an accurate description of the interaction with this reviewer. This customer initially contacted Pop-A-Lock on the afternoon of January 4th to inquire about the cost to program 2 keys that he already purchased. He also stated that they had already been cut and that he wanted to replace his existing key because the keyless entry buttons were not working. I suggested that he may need to replace the batteries and he said that he already had. I explained that it would be $150 to program the keys that he supplied, and that there was no guarantee on the keys, since I was not supplying them. I explained that if his keys didn’t work, I’d be happy to supply keys from my inventory at an additional cost. I also explained that the $150 service fee is charged whether or not his customer supplied keys worked or not. He said that he would call back to schedule. This was a 4 minute conversation - it is logged in our CRM system. This customer called again the afternoon of January 10th. He mentioned that he’d called about getting some keys programmed the week before and wanted to have it done. We agreed that he would meet me at my office at 4p.I attempted to program the 2 keys that he supplied. They would not program to the vehicle. At this point, I could have collected the $150 price that he was quoted and called it a day. I did not - I offered to use keys from my inventory for an additional cost. I tried 3 keys from my inventory that would not program. This lead me to believe that the issue was with his vehicle. I explained that I could do a diagnostic which would provide insight into the issue that would need to be resolved in order to add keys to his vehicle. The customer was appreciative of this effort. By doing the diagnostic, I found that there was an issue with the MICU module. This module controls the door lock actuators based on several switch signals. Since I am not a mechanic, I suggested that it could be the MICU module itself, possibly a fuse related to that module or a bad connection - but at least he had information to share with his mechanic. This customer was appreciative of my efforts until it came time pay. He would not listen to an explanation that the $150 was not for the diagnostics - it was for my initial attempt to program his customer supplied keys that did not work. I went above and beyond to attempt to help this customer. I even offered to jump start his car for him, as the continued attempts to program his keys, my keys and run the diagnostics did draw down his battery. He literally turned his back and would not speak to me. He refused my assistance to jump start the car and was calling a friend to come help him as I packed up my equipment and left. This customer, who by the way, is not named Omar L, was quoted a price for a service and did not pay more than what was quoted. Arguably, additional services were provided for no additional charge.
