Captain Haskell's Octagon House

We paid over $200 a night for a room with a balcony. It was a very dusty room, the bath has a sink with 2 faucets - it's either hot or cold water. Very inconvenient. No air conditioner.  Breakfast looked beautiful but the products weren't fresh. For this amount of money, the place needs better management and renovations. Our experience wasn't pleasant at all. We were happy when it was time to leave the dusty house. Do not recommend.

The place is comfortable and relaxing and has many interesting furnishings. The building is architecturally interesting. Breakfast was simple but great. We really enjoyed our conversation with the host Unlike many rooms I've stayed in, our room at the Octagon House had many convenient and easy to find electric outlets. I'm glad I picked Captain Haskell's for our visit to New Bedford.

My husband and I spent a long weekend here and had a wonderful time!  We had a beautiful room with a balcony, delicious breakfast every morning and a nice walk into town from the B&B.   Chuck had great advice on the local scene and he's a gracious host.  We'll definitely be back.
