Carter Smith Ltd

Carter Smith has been hand-dyeing silk for over 50 years. Many of the 8-10 yard lengths he dyes are sewn into remarkable on-the-bias clothing designs. One of them was my mother-of-the-bride dress!

In October 2015 I called Mr. Smith and told him I was interested in purchasing a 3pound scraps for $110.00 as it states on his site. I then sent him a check which was cashed but I never received my scraps. I have called several times, I spoke to him once and he assured me he would send it. Since then I only get an answering machine. Be wary of ordering from this company. $110.00 doesn't break the bank either way, but it's a matter of principle. Do unto others Carter Smith! Margy Daly.
