I have gone to Rumors off and on since the mid-nineties. The owner, Lisa, will nickel and dime you and does not prioritize customer service. There are so many great salons in the Hudson/Marlboro area, and I would strongly suggest seeking them out over Rumors.

I've been looking for a salon in Marlborough that has great color, great cuts, and a spa like experience. Last night I found it. Heidi gave me a partial foil, face framing trim, and time to relax and recharge. The candles, seating, music, and clientele all made me feel like I was in the right place. To top it off, the price was less than I expected to pay. This salon is a must try!

I started coming to Rumors as a child in the mid nineties. As I got older, I started having my hair foiled here because I really like the work done by one of their stylists. I went in on 4/20/19 for a full foil. I have long(er) hair, and I usually end up paying an extra $20 as a result. This time, I was charged $40! That is 35% of the original price, and seems excessive. I also (stupidly) decided to get a trim. Why not? Im already in the chair. So she trims my hair, blow dries it, and sends me on my way. The blow dry was AWFUL. I could have done it better myself, and I dont think I have used a blowdryer in a decade. No round brush, no style at all. Now, I wouldnt mind this but I was charged $55 for the wash, cut, and blow-dry. If I am to pay Newbury St. prices, Id expect to look like I got my hair done there. I expressed my concern to Lisa, the owner. I wasnt sure why the prices were so high (they had not updated their website to reflect new prices), and why my hair looked so awful. She did not care. Her solution was to have a stylist wet it again so I could wear it home naturally. Many of my friends and family members have stopped going to Rumors as time has passed, and I now understand why. Lisa has no customer service skills, and nickel and dimes customers without warning. I tried contacting her privately to discuss this further but never heard back. I do not recommend this place to anyone new to the area looking for a salon. It is absolutely not worth your money, and Lisa Ledoux is not a good person.
