After a terrible experience with another Georgetown Contractor. In November we had open to the outside walls, windows not installed correctly hole in the front steps floor. Mike came to the recuse and corrected all the mistakes we could afford to fix. We could have re done the whole hose if we had hired Mike first. Please be comfortable in hiring Taft construction, first rate work. Do not made the same mistake we did. Start with Taft!

Quality, quality, quality!Taft Construction has been doing work for my family since I was a teenager.  As we've grown to have our own homes, my siblings and I still would not use anyone else for home repairs, additions or renovations.Is it unscrupulous to Yelp for family?  Because that's the way Mike, the owner, and his crew make you feel when they work on your home.  They are exceedingly patient during the planning and budgeting process, and then deliver a quality of work that we think is unparalleled.  We've recommended them dozens of times with no hesitation and never had someone that hasn't simply gushed about the work once it was complete.  Other times, we've seen friends elect to go for the mega-hardware store contractor option, or so-and-so's brother who is a part time handyman, and the contrast is painfully obvious.  When Taft Construction explains an estimate, you really understand what you are paying for.  (and once the work is complete, you wonder why there wasn't a 75% artistic/quality stipend tacked on)  But over the years, through the experiences of friends and neighbors, we've seen exactly how some contractors cut price to get a job, and the results are very telling.  So if you are Yelping for home additions or renovations on the North Shore, go no further.  Just don't tie them up for too long, because I think it might be time for us to get a new deck this summer.
