We are residents of Burlington, who recently called EBTH to inquire about our moving and estate sale. A representative returned the call but it was not clear to me that I was being interviewed for suitability with EBTH. Since I was merely trying to find out how it worked and hadn’t even gone through all the estate pieces I was not prepared for a snippy, pompous individual asking questions in a disparaging way about our belongings. In trying to describe the items we had for sale, I obviously didn’t have the “type” of merchandise EBTH deems worth selling. For example, I mentioned we had two sets of beautiful antique glassware that was over 100 years old. He said in an arrogant tone “is it Waterford?” Which I didn’t know. Then he told me in no uncertain terms. “It doesn’t sound like you have anything we’d be interested in.” So I hung up stunned and very upset. Subsequently I went to a competing auction company and am happy to report we made $8,000 in gross sales on our “unsuitable for EBTH” items. It’s too bad EBTH lost out on my business. You had been highly recommended by a friend of mine. I will never recommend your company with such arrogant phone support people.

The item (14K gold ring with rubies and diamonds) I bought in EBTH's online auction was exactly as pictured and described. In fact, it exceeded my expectations and I was thrilled at the price I got it for. After the auction was over, the ring was shipped promptly and arrived well packaged. I am getting a bit addicted to the site. Given the level of description they provide about the jewelry, I was comfortable buying it sight unseen and after my first purchase feel even more confident now.

I love shopping on EBTH and I have purchased several items. My biggest complaint is the shipping since I have had many items destroyed in transit. I found that it’s best to only bid on things you can pick up yourself. We have made several trips to Cincinnati because of that.
