Made a reservation online earlier in the evening for 9:30pm. Was accepted by the restaurant. When my date and I arrived (visiting from out of town) promptly at 9:30pm the place spelled of cleansing products and workers were already taking out the trash. The woman behind the register, who I assume was the manager on duty said she hadnt seen the reservation (checked her app and there it was) when I reminded her that their hours say theyre open until 10pm she agreed butsaid they were closing early tonight, no explanation why. You cant run a business like this, complete waste of our time.

Meh. I dropped in on a weekday, at an odd time, in the afternoon. I was only one of two customers in the restaurant. There were plenty of tables (see photo) but, even so, they offered me only a seat at the bar or a two-top by the window. And it was a bit chilly outside and the window table was chilly. So I chose the bar. With the entire restaurant being open, I think taking a four-top would have been fine. No one else came in while I was there. The server was very nice. But there was something odd about sitting at the bar. People were hustling back-and-forth, of course, getting ready for dinner, but it didnt really feel that warm and welcoming. And there was a bit of a bar funk smell. You know sometimes when you whiff that stale beer smell. That was perhaps what was happening here, so I should have sat by that window! Again, the server was very nice, but the vibe was a bit off at the bar. But, the main reason that I am giving three stars is food related. First, they were out of a lot of beers. They only had Sam Adams and one other beer. It was very disappointing. So I just switched to Prosecco. And I ordered the tomato spinach soup, which arrived lukewarm. The tomatoes tasted a bit canned, and I took most of it home. If it was called spinach orzo soup it would have been more accurate. I did not ask for a description, but I thought it would be much more tomato- forward. As it was, the tomatoes seem like a bit of an afterthought. Again, like they just poured some canned stewed tomatoes in the soup. Also, it was supposed to have some parmigiano, and it did, but it wasnt even melted, it was just floating in there. Likely because the soup was not warm. And it was $13. It felt like it should have been priced below $10. Figs was once a staple of ours when we lived in Beacon Hill a long time ago. It was warm and cozy, and the beer selection was excellent and the food was good. I did not order a pizza, and that is what we always used to have (and what they are known for) so I will give it another chance the next time I am back in town and order a pizza and hope for a better beer selection.

PLEASE be careful. Waiters in Figs tend to increase tips if you use a non-US credit card. On November 9th, 2023, it happened to me. I called and they said they would issue a credit. It is March 21st, 2024, and I am STILL WAITING. That is stealing. Be careful. Take pictures of your receipts. These people should be reported to the police. That is stealing.

cute spot, food doesnt taste like its price range (Bolognese pasta barely had any beef&pork sauce it really became a white sauce pasta after mixing due to overload of cream; Greek salad is just a salad nothing special). didnt rate a three star just because of the service and atmosphere but definitely dont recommend here if you are trying to get good food, especially for the price range.
