They are unable to answer basic questions about what insurance they accept and their treatments - different reps say different things - and have a 6-month waitlist. Try elsewhere.

Dr. Mehta referred me to a barbaric dentist, Rustam Devitre who prophylactically root canals all his tmj patients' teeth, overpreps them, then does a "full mouth reconstruction" creating very short, spinter sized brittle teeth. I underwent all of this, was left in agony (and 100K poorer) and now I'm losing all my teeth. As the other reviewers mentioned, if your treatment goes south, you can be sure they'll blame it on your psychological problems.

I have been a patient at the Craniofacial Pain Center for almost 30 years. It began as chronic TMJ pain with intermittent jaw dislocations at the age of 15. When I moved to Boston at the age of 24, my dentist recommended this practice and I began wearing a nightguard which really helped my condition. Then at the age of 35, the discs in my jaw dislocated on both sides and they never returned to their original positions. I had 24/7 pain for almost a year and I could not close my teeth to chew. But Dr. Mehta said this would resolve itself over time and the dislocated discs would atrophy and I would eventually be able to chew and bite and be pain free. I wore upper and lower mouth guards and he was right. The practice got me through all of these stages of my jaw issues with great professionalism and success. Every so often I go back to the office to get a new night guard. Now, at the age of 62, I need to have a consult because the orthodontist doesn't like what he sees in my jaw joint. So of course I come back to a practice that I trust. BUT, now they are no longer taking any patients that have state health care coverage. I have never had insurance that pays for this care, so I have always paid out of pocket. But now they won't even give me an appointment because they don't take my insurance (and they never have), even though I said I would just pay out of pocket. I'm totally disgusted that I can't continue my care because of their stupid insurance policy. They are not providing care to the general public, only special folks. And obviously, a continuing patient over the past 30 years is not special enough. And of course, now I won't go there because it's not about me and my needs, but only about how they will get paid. Find some place else that works for the patient, not the almighty dollar.

They're incredibly disorganized. They forgot about me for 3 months. ("We will reach out when we have availability") Then lied about forgetting about me. Doctors are good but if it takes a half year and relentless follow ups - it's not worth it.

The doctors themselves are nice but the organization of the place needs some serious work. Their main phone number hardly ever connects, and if it does, youre stuck on hold for infinity. Just to schedule a follow up appointment, Ive called every day for two weeks and still havent managed to reach someone. Its a shame because the doctors seem to be good.
