The doctors at this hospital are great and seem to really care about your well-being, but most of the nurses are not and are extremely rude. I came in on surgeons recommendations after surgery because I was experiencing symptoms of an infection. The long wait time for a room did not bother me, but I was crying because I was in extreme pain and it was 4 am and I had recently had surgery so I was exhausted and my body needed rest to recover from my organs being moved in my body. I overheard nurses complaining about the fact I was crying. When I finally got a room, the nurse poked and prodded me quite a few times in attempts to find a vein (Ive always been told I have easy veins and no other medical institution has ever had any trouble placing an IV). The wait times between test results were maybe 3-5 hrs, and I was told it was so long because I was not on file, despite having had surgery at BI 3 days prior. When I wanted to leave because the blood tests came back with no sign of infection, the nurse got very hostile and cold to me and originally said I was not allowed to as they were still waiting on a urine sample. I had no urinary symptoms or any sign of UTI. Eventually they said I could leave against medical advice, despite the blood tests showing that there were no signs of infection (what I had been told to come in to check for) and the doctors saying that I could go and they did not think it was necessary to pursue further testing if the blood labs showed I did not have an infection. When I left against medical advice, the nurse was extremely rude and irresponsible as she ripped the IV out of my arm to the point it started bleeding due to her excessive force. She didnt care. I was also told I didnt have to sign anything to leave and that the visit summary would not appear on my chart because I was not on file. I do not know how thats possible, considering I had had surgery at BI within the last week. So, nurses were terrible people, but doctors were nice. I had a few surgical complications after that and did not return to BI due to the experience I had there. Mass General and Mount Auburn nurses actually treated me like a human being and were lovely. Would not recommend 2 stars solely for the kindness of the doctors.

1/10. After not being able to eat or drink for 5 days my doctor told me to go the the hospital. I arrived at bidh and went to register. There was a line of 6 people. Doubled over with abnominal pain, the lady motioned for me to come up and the people in line helped me walk up. She immediately told me to wait inside for triage. She personally got the triage nurse to see me. After triage the nurse told me to sit and wait 3pm. 6 hours and counting....... i asked the triage nurse to reevaluate me the pain was worse and it was hard to breathe, i was having an asthma attack and asked if i could get fluids before i passed out.....nothing! 2 hours later(11pm) the only interaction I had from any of the er staff was to ask, if I was video recording. I wasnt and turned to show them my phone. The triage nurse walked away and the guard apologized. I was texting my family about how much pain I was in and if someone could come get me.. Insulted, I left. I went to another hospital, got seen in 2 hours and was scheduled for emergency surgery. I guess bidh doesn't care if you die in their waiting room as long as you don't video record. What are they afraid of getting caught doing? Incompetence? Mind you, I was never allowed to see a doctor. Stayed in the waiting room the entire time.
