Horrible! Pay 175 a month for two people in the health connector. Every/anytime I have a new prescription it needs a prior authorization which is a huge pain because I need my medication right away. Ridiculous copays to. Very hard to find doctor, therapist or psychiatrist that accepts neighborhood health.

I'm speaking on behalf on my friend. I urged her to apply for Mass Health. It was the year the ACA was implemented and the Massachusetts conversion to ACA was a mess. We drove her into Boston and still she had troubles signing up. Eventually, she applied again last year, got on MassHealth, and chose Neighborhood Health Plan. Thank God she did. This year she searched for a new PCP in order to get an old med renewed for a chronic condition. The PCP ran an EKG and determined that she had a silent heart attack. He sent her to a cardiologist who determined the same at first glance. Neighborhood Health Plan was wonderful throughout her ordeal. Several tests were ordered – all covered by NHP – and they concluded that her heart was fine. Meanwhile, staff at NHP called her to help her with her original chronic condition. They offered her some supplies and solutions she wasn't aware of previously. I also tried NHP through the MA Health Connector and found them to be caring, responsive and reasonable. I've also bought commercial insurance out-of-pocket for self employment for many years. I imagine that many of the people complaining on this thread have never done so. The state's alliance with NHP is a godsend for many. I hope the reviews continue to improve as I've heard the company is trying hard to deliver world-class coverage in a difficult industry.

Worst experience of my life. NEVER dealth with such incompetence, lies and a sociopathic medical director making life/death decisions with input from other doctors, still turn down life saving meds. I've dealt w lies, inconsistencies, constant denials, misinformation and worse. BEWARE.

I am dropping NHP this month, after they rejected MRIs needed for surgical reconstruction of my deformed club foot. I've always experienced falls from toe drop, but as I age I don't bounce so well, and fear the frequent falls. We went through every level of internal appeal. They suggest first a 6 week program of NSAIDS, RICE, PT, bracing and casting. None of which can possibly correct my toe drop problem. Surgeon asked reconsideration twice, still rejected. Since last month they denied payment for Rx drink to prep for colonoscopy (really!); and since a year ago experiencing a clinical depression, I could not find a psychopharmacologist that would accept NHP that could give me an appointment in less than 4 months -- what's the point of insurance? The doctor's offices that could take me told me that they don't take NHP because of the difficulties they have with payment. I know that health care costs are tough and need discipline, but this is beyond ridiculous. It's literally threatening to my health and safety.
