I have been a patient at BMC for years, I have been a patient of Dr. Little's for 17 years. I have a phenomenal relationship with all of his staff, Sandra Janice to name a few. They have always been nothing but accommodating if there is an issue with my medications its resolved immediately. My doctor responds quickly when I message him on my chart. I am happy at BMC with my team.

The level of care I have received has been absolutely appalling. Today was the last straw and the end of my relationship with BMC. I have asthma and my prescription for my inhaler ran out on the Thursday night before a holiday weekend. I called the pulmonology dept at 8:30 a.m. this morning (Friday) to get it refilled, making it clear that I was having difficulty breathing. At 2:30 p.m., when the prescription had STILL not been called in, I made my 5th call, and was told my pulmonologist was not available and that the attending physician would call in the prescription. In my SIXTH PHONE CALL I was told everyone had left for the day and there was no one who could help me. The incompetency of a system that cant accommodate emergency requests for inhalers needed to breath is just pathetic and deplorable. This follows a separate six-month long saga about a PCP referral that resulted in me getting a $1400 bill for a 10-minute consultation, a situation that only got a response when I escalated it to patient advocacy. I know Drs are under duress in these times but it really shouldnt be this difficult for patients to be able to speak to a human being who has the empowerment to address issues/concerns. There needs to be competent administrative triage to accommodate incoming requests or somebody is going to end up dying.
