WR Collins Hardwood Floors

We hired Bill (owner) and Jason (Bills assistant and nephew) from W R Collins flooring. We were initially told that while doing the floors, only the baseboards would need a touch up after the work was done, instead we ended up with damages on the bedroom and closet doors. The problems started once we saw the final result and decided to question a few of the work that was done. The work was clearly rushed, mostly on the stairs. In every room, either a door had chipped off parts or damages that were far above the floor and had nothing to do with the floors. For example the closet doors had scapes and pieces of paint that were all scratched off. They blamed the paint job instead of being more careful when working or at least removing the doors while sanding. After the job was completed, I contacted Bill to discuss the damages to the areas of the house that had nothing to do with the floors. He showed up with his girlfriend, who also entered our house for whatever reason. We had never seen her before so we had no idea what the heck she was doing there. Once we showed him the damages, instead of acknowledging the damage and taking responsibility for what had happened, not to mention the poor staining job on the stairs, we were met with constant disruption, disrespect and RACIALLY motivated taunts by his girlfriend who decided to literally say YOU PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTING while standing in our house. Things got incredibly tense and me and my wife asked his girlfriend to leave our house and allow us to speak with Bill who was in charge of the work. His girlfriend continued to taunt and disrespect us and refused to leave until we threatened her that we would call the police if she wouldnt leave. In the end, instead of owning the problem and accepting what he had done wrong, he decided to drop the price by a few hundred dollars and stood in our house while his partner disrespected us. IF ANYONE IS READING THIS REVIEW, please be prepared to deal with an unprofessional guy (minus his assistant Jason who was a real good guy and tried to help). Dont try to save a few hundred bucks, pay the extra money and go with a legit company who knows what they are doing. We regret working with him. We now have to pay someone to fix all the damages and on top of that, redo the floors all over again. A picture is worth a thousand words! See for yourself!

Bill has been in business for many years. There was an artistry to this teams process. All cost estimates and work estimate were accurate. Bill, Phong and Jay were extremely professional and funny. We had a ton of carpet removed. White oak flooring, banisters, railings and stairs were installed. Phong alone gets 5 stars for inadvertently finding my wedding band in the heat register as he was tearing up 17 year old carpeting! Bill was able to source white oak quickly from out of state. The workmanship is beyond amazing. We will recommend WR Collins Hardwood Floor to everyone in the future!

What Bill and his team did with our house was simply fantastic.  We took a room that was previously a garage (the kitchen in the picture) the old kitchen (the dining room in the picture) and made it seamlessly woven into the previously existing hardwood floors from the 30s.  This required precision cutting and weaving to match the boards in the other room as well as meticulous staining to ensure it all matched evenly.The work simply speaks for itself.  More importantly, Bill is a very easy going professional who understands what it takes to not only install and service great floors but to maintain them as well.  When bombarded with questions around upkeep, he provided key recommendations on products that he stands by.  What more could you ask for?We will need our upstairs floors done over (just got this house) and once we decide on the time, we know exactly who we're reaching out to.  Thanks again Bill, these floors shine beautifully!
