My brother was just discharged from Encompass, thank goodness. He has Parkinsons, and needs assistance with meals and liquids. Which he didn't get much help from staff. The nurses are happy, but not very truthful. He fell twice in one morning, weak, delusional, and very dehydrated. Because no one took the time to give him any liquids between meals. Went to emer for head scan, which we were not notified of. On discharge they had to hydrate him by I.V. because they did not do their job. Awful. And I don't need your pitiful response.

My mother had a brief stay after being in the hospital. The staff is easy to communicate with and very kind and easygoing. They keep the patients on an active schedule with several 1/2 hour therapy sessions a day. The facility is bright and modern. Our only complaint would be the food. Other than that it was a great experience - far better than any other rehabs we have tried.

I wouldn't send my abusive ex husband here not knowing my mother in law had two fractures to her pelvis they pushed her and pushed her did not check to see if she had help at home she does not. I have cancer stage 4 my husband has swollen discs in his back they never even tried to show us how to help her food was below sub par and nursing staff definitely left room for improvement twice my mother in law forgot to hang phone up and I hear charge nurse yelling at her no sir do not send your loved ones here.

My mother, 70, was at Encompass Beverly for 10 days after she fell down her stairs, breaking her ankle and collar bone. I was reluctant to send her here after reading some of the negative reviews - but, after our experience there, I am compelled to summarize our experience. Encompass Beverly is a bright, sunny and clean facility. It's not too big and it feels more home-y than you would expect. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is a dining area and a common area with games and a large TV, and a wonderful physical therapy room that prepares patients for daily life - like going up and down stairs and getting into and out of a car. There is also a kitchenette for patients to slowly get the hang of preparing food for themselves. The staff is extremely competent, caring and motivating. We were all amazed to see the progress my mother made in just a few days. They treated my mother kindly, professionally and with dignity. They were responsive to all of my mother's requests and had lots of equipment to make it easier for her to begin to care for herself. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can give to Encompass Beverly was the level of organization and communication. The case worker called me periodically during my mother's stay to update me on her progress and the plan for her care. They assured me she would not be released until she was truly ready to go home. But their care did not stop when my mother left the facility. Encompass Beverly coordinated all of my mother's home-care - to include visiting nurses, physical therapy, occupational therapy and a home health aid. They even scheduled appointments with her orthopedic doctor and primary care doctor. All of this was clearly communicated to me in a timely and organized fashion. Our case worker was well-informed of all of the resources available to my mother and she patiently answered all of our questions. This is a complete 180 from previous experiences we've had coordinating care for my father in NY. The only "negatives" I can say are: - The food was so-so. It is brought in by an outside service. It was plentiful, but choices were repetitive and not prepared very well. That said - it's hospital food - what do you expect? It certainly could have been worse. - When they are not in therapy, the patients are mostly alone in their rooms. This may very well be because they are tired, too severely injured, contagious, or not in the state of mind to socialize.... however, there is a really nice common area that could be used to help patients interact with each other so they are not isolated all day. -The nurses are strictly bound to the doctor's orders - which is certainly understandable.... but little things like, my mom couldn't get an antibiotic ointment for a cut on her forehead because it wasn't written on her chart seemed unreasonable. Overall, I was pleased with the level of care my mother received at Encompass Beverly. As a concerned daughter and a full-time working mother myself, they made the process of navigating my mother's care much easier than expected. I wasn't left alone to make decisions and schedule appointments for my mom. They provided guidance and support every step of the way. If ever a member of my family required physical rehabilitation again, I would choose Encompass Beverly - though I hope I never have to!
