I cannot say enough about the quality of these knives or the quality of the management in place at R. Murphy knives. I met the company president Mark Furman through a work related "meeting" and was blown away by his passion and knowledge of all things regarding knives. From the manufacturing process to proper care he was a pro. I decided I would purchase a set (carbon steel chef 4 piece) and I cannot get over how much I love them! These knives cut much better than my other stainless steel (wustof) knives and seem to stay sharper longer. I live in Massachusetts and I would much rather support a local business than a foreign one, especially when the quality of the product speaks for itself. Ill purchase all of my knives from R. Murphy from now on!

Buddy & I went to the R. Murphy factory in Ayer, MA today (4-30-15) Awesome experience. Maureen and an executive were excellent hosts! Upon entering the main entrance expecting to talk through the sliding glass window, Maureen warmly invited us into the main office. We had a pleasant conversation and were allowed to browse freely! The gentleman helped us with the descriptions of the many fine knives on a magnetic display and in a casement. We left happily with one sandwich spreader & two New Haven oyster knives,(voted best oyster knife in America). It was great to be able to go to a traditional American factory, be treated with respect & kindness, and purchase their great products! J.D.
