Due to the reviews I was kinda afraid to go to the ER here but because it was the closest to me I had no choice but to go! And WOW Sometimes you can’t go based on bad reviews we all have different experiences but I have nothing bad to say front desk were friendly the doctor the nurse and radiology were super friendly I didn’t feel rushed I felt like they took care of me, I would go back again if I have to. Reason I went was because a fall I went on a Monday in wasn’t busy and I got called in fast.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Do not go here unless you want to make your condition even worse. I speak as a nurse and as a patient. I went to Emerson Urgent Care for asthma exacerbation and I could not breathe. Because of covid precautions, the urgent care could not treat me and sent me on an ambulance to Nashoba Valley ER. I did not mind because I thought they could handle a simple nebulizer treatment that would help me breathe again. As soon as I got there, they put me in a covid isolation room (even though I do not have covid, I had it weeks ago). Once in the isolation room, they checked my vitals (still could not breathe) and they left. I did not see anyone for over an hour and no one helped me get a nebulizer treatment so that I could breathe again. After ringing the call bell, someone finally came and I asked them for a treatment because I still could not breathe. They again disappeared and never came back. I was not allowed to leave the isolation room, even though I did not have covid and I could not breathe. At this point, my breathing was getting worse so I called my boyfriend to help me. While on the phone with him, they told him that I "was getting excellent care and was completely fine." He told the charge nurse he was speaking to me and she walked away rolling her eyes. After hearing this, my breathing got even worse with O2 levels in the 80s and my heart rate was in the 170s. Still no one came. It took me crying and almost passing out on the floor from not breathing to get someone to get me a breathing treatment. As a nurse, I told them I could set it up for myself and they wouldn't have to enter the room (again, I did not have covid). They refused, and that is when my breathing got even worse. They said someone will help me eventually. They finally could not ignore that a patient could not breathe with an angry spouse outside, so they got me the nebulizer. If he had not come to help me, I am not sure what would have happened. Being trapped in a room with no way to get help to breathe is so frightening. As soon as I could walk and talk again without coughing and being short of breath I walked out of there. The excuse given to me was that there was another patient that the respiratory therapist was with. That is completely understandable. But for 2 hours? and nurses can set up a nebulizer easily, there is no need for a respiratory therapist to do it. There is no excuse for leaving someone locked in an isolation room with no way to get breathing help. This hospital is a disgrace to its patients and its nurses. I can't even imagine being a nurse without one ounce of empathy, but that is all that works there.
