I first heard of Wayne Strattman when I was in Larry Albright's studio in the 1990s and one of Wayne's patented commercial neon-plasma pieces arrived. I purchased several commercial items over the years which function perfectly today. I later saw his website in the early 2000s and reached out to him for assistance in resurrecting several of his large plasma sculptures from the 1980s that I had procured from an Australian scientist. For such a busy individual, Wayne was unbelievably helpful and even re-gassed and repaired a large 24" sphere that was damaged. This was no small feat considering the glass involved was Borosilicate (which melts at much higher temperatures than regular glass). The massive item had to be shipped from Australia to the studio in Boston (which was a feat unto itself) - and then back again via courier. Strattman Design are the only studio that I know of that can reliably produce neon-related devices and museum quality display pieces that merge with the realm of modern kinetic art. Their scientific knowledge is unique and their incredible work is world renowned. I'm my dealings with Strattman Design over the years, I've found them to be honest, reliable and highly skilled. They have been able to match specific, stable gas mixtures on request and provided matching power supplies to suit. Some of the vintage Strattman Design pieces I own still run perfectly today after more than 35 years. * I can only apologize for such a long overdue review.

Wayne is one of the most accomplished 'Glass and Plasma Artists' on the planet. He is famous for completely rewriting the principle manual used for creation of 'Neon' objects/signs. He holds the only PhD in Neon and teaches worldwide. He is the quintessential expert.
