They did not show up after 2 calls. Third call asked if i needed accessible van, which was arranged with original reservation. Over An hour after set time, still waiting. Glad I didn't pay ahead. Communicating by phone is iffy.

I have been using Orange Taxi for years now to take me to the Metro for out of town trips, and they've *always* shown up early for a reservation, unlike some of the bigger names. I only call them when we travel now, and I no longer worry about making our train or plane. UPDATE: I called today, and the service was horrible. After giving my name twice, my address twice, and having to remind the person on the phone what I was asking for, I gave up. Their website is no longer up, so I suspect the phone number has been purchased by some middlemen scammers who farm jobs out to the cheapest person on TaskRabbit or something similar. I ran into something similar with "Olney Carpet Cleaning", which is definitely NOT a real business.

I had used Orange Taxi for years. Their drivers were always very nice and professional, and they always showed up on time when I made an advance reservation. However, I just tried calling them today, and it sounded like they outsourced their call center, because I received a generic greeting. Not horrible, but a noticeable difference than before. I told them I wanted to schedule a pickup for this weekend. I was then asked my name, and my address, which I gave them, and they put me on hold because they said they had to check if it was in the pickup area. I've been picked up here a few dozen times over the last 6 or 7 years, but things can change, I guess. When she came back (and it was definitely the same person), she proceeded to ask my name again (OK, maybe they're busy), and then said she needed the pickup address...the one she supposedly just checked...??? I gave it again, and she said there were no cabs available. Um...I said something to the effect of OK, so you're not going to be able to have someone in the area on almost a week's notice? I'll admit, forgetting the pickup time I had mentioned earlier was the least of the problems, but I was starting to get the feeling that the phone number might have been taken over by a middleman who farms out the jobs to the lowest bidder. Sure enough, I checked the website (orangetaxi-md.com) and it's gone...not forwarded to somewhere else, but gone.I don't know what really happened to Orange Taxi. Maybe their phone number was taken over by some scammers trying to pretend they're still a local business, maybe they've just changed management or the way they run their call center. Either way, I don't trust them any longer.
