I was in need of a new home but had a dealt with a few shady realtors in my past so I was a little skeptical at first, but when I reached out to Northrop realty for help, it was as if they knew my previous plight with realtors and sent their best to me to guide me through my home buying experience. The moment I met Ben Broome I knew that I was in good hands. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I was debating on whether or not to post my experience online because it’s embarrassing, but after a week of the event, I am still very shaken by how I was treated by Samrat Behl, one of Northrop's Clarksville "realtors" and if I can save someone the pain of going through what I did, then I will.
I am 9 months pregnant and looking for a new home. My husband and I live in Howard county and were excited to start searching for our next home. I was interested in 3 properties and booked a tour with Samrat to show us the houses. He seemed polite and eager to show us around. Upon arriving to the first house, he was able to answer all our questions and was very friendly. However, at the end of the tour of the first property, he delivered two contracts to me and asked me if I wanted him to represent the buyer or the seller. I told him I was just looking around and I would have to speak with my husband about it, he said I needed to choose one or the other, and whatever I chose would be fine, but he needed an answer by the next property.
Once we arrived to the second house, Samrat asked for the papers back and asked what we had chosen, I said he could represent the seller, and at that time he said “well this will be the end of the tour, I will not be showing you any more houses” - I was in awe. I told him I would not be doing business with him because he’s misleading and he said “I don’t get paid to show houses”.
First of all, I do not know him and that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have chosen him to represent us but as a realtor, you need to build the trust with your customers. I felt not only blindsided but cheated. Did I mention it is 95 degrees plus out and I’m 9 months pregnant? I could’ve stayed home or gotten a different agent with a more positive attitude to show us around and even get a contract signed. His demeanor changed entirely and he could’ve been upfront about his intentions as a realtor prior to me leaving my house and booking these appointments. I am very disappointed in how I was treated and how it was handled.
I simply do not recommend him AT ALL.
