495 Movers Inc

Would absolutely hire again. They sent four guys to move our house, and finished ahead of schedule (and thus our bill was lower than the initial estimate). They took care to wrap all the fragile items that we had not packed, such as the TV, monitors, framed pictures, and furniture. Nothing was damaged from what I can tell. They also let me pick up as many boxes and rolls of tape as I needed beforehand so that we could prep. The only issue in the end is that they did not remember that I had put a deposit down when doing the final paperwork, so make sure that you have that receipt handy. But overall they made this part of the move pretty stress free.

Be aware when you are getting a long distance moving from 495movers. Moved our items from Maryland to Texas. We hired 495movers because they have very good BBB ratings and google reviews. We only have one bedroom apartment to move. The normal price for moving would be $5000-$6000, we paid almost $8000 to hire 495 movers. No problem with initial moving day. They are on time, efficient, very careful to wrap our furnitures and piano. The problem is after that. Be aware: they said you are going to expect you things “within” 28 “business days”. We patiently wait for 28 business days. Every time when I called them, they would talk to me in an impatient manner “it’s 28 business days.” We wait for 6 weeks. Sleep on the floor, borrow essentials from friends… etc. And now, it passed 28 business days, no one contacted me yet. I started worrying my stuff.. and I was too confident with them, we didn’t pay extra for the insurance.. I would love to know how can we solve this kind of tough problems.. why we paid but still can’t get the quality service.

Many items damaged (they dont have bubble wrap) dresser wood warped, and when i told them a mo. ago that their insurance co. has not settled the claim (in the legal amount of time allowed) they never got back to me as promised

I was completely disappointed with 495Movers. Let me start by saying the loading and unloading team was fantastic. The guys that packed and loaded the truck were hard workers, professional and did an outstanding job. My issue was the final bill which was $4,000 more than the estimate. The estimate was 2,000cf and it ended up being 3,000cf. They had to bring an additional truck which created all sorts of challenges. Customer service gave me a discount for the inconvenience but the final bill was $4,000 over my budget. The person that did the estimate went to the house and I showed him every single corner of the house. He messed up and I had to pay for his mistake. I would not recommend 495movers.
