Cedarbrook Clinic: Kim Hei-Jung MD

The worst reception service for patients. We had waited for 2 months for the first zoom appointment (totally understandable during this pandemic period). However, they kept postponing the appointment from 1 pm to 2 pm, then from 2 pm to 3 pm, and then just canceled it. They asked to reschedule it at 8:30 am next day. When I called at 9:30 am next day (after 1 hour waiting), they canceled it again. After arguing, they put the appointment at the first slot next Monday. They promised that it will be the first one, no one will be before it. But on the day, we waited another 60 min and they said we just need to wait for a few minutes more until the doctor completed the previous patient. Their office service is terrible. They never called to apologize for delays in advance. We need to call after waiting longer than 30 min and figure out what's going on. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!

Dr. Kim is very caring. She spends as much time as needed with each patient. She never looks at the clock. Best Psy I have found.

Seeing Dr. Kim was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made. When I came there, I was given a lot of paper to fill out! Most of these sheets enabled me to provide data that Dr. Kim could analyze. I waited awhile. Most of the people there were from the Korean community and I thought that perhaps my experiences were too foreign to be dealt with (poor analysis on my part!). In her office, she asked questions, and provided additional data to her system on the computer. It seemed rather strange to me. I had been seen by previous doctors and they had me misdiagnosed - Dr. Kim would never say that; but believe me, she has me on the right track now. It took a few weeks with gentle reduction of the previous medication - more analyses - then gentle increase of what she believed would be the proper medication - more analyses. I am now very happy and can manage all that I encounter. Dr. Kim is extraordinarily gifted, and I am thankful every day that she has me on the right path. Her extraordinary intelligence and deep, genuine care make her a rare encounter. I was in pain before I came there. I am now equipped for a rewarding life that I maintain.

Dr. Kim is very kind and knowledgeable, but the service in her office is unacceptable. Now for the second time, I have just left the office without seeing her after waiting over an hour for my appointment. Today I went up and asked if there were other clients ahead of me, of which there were 2. I said I would have appreciated being told that when I sat down an hour ago, for which the receptionist apologized. I appreciated this at least, as last time the person behind the desk brushed off my complaint. As a patient I feel a lack of respect for my time in this practice, as calling out from work is not always easy to schedule and this office consistently leaves patients waiting on end with no warning or apology. I will be looking for a new practice in 2020.

Dr. Kim is a very knowledgeable and intuitive doctor. She knows what she’s talking about and genuinely cares about her patients health. Her office is a different story. There have been times where I had to wait TWO HOURS in her very small waiting room. Today I had an appointment, so I called an hour ahead of time and asked if she was running on time. Her assistant told me she was, so I arrived at her office at my scheduled appointment time. I waited 30 minutes until someone finally came out of her office, only to find out there was still one person ahead of me. I then had to wait another 45 minutes. This is a horrible way to treat your clients and I have brought this up MANY TIMES to both the doctor and her assistants, yet no one seems to be doing anything about it.
