I highly recommend Geoffrey Platnick for family law. He is a super smart lawyer who considers all of the issues before offering his advice and opinions about your case. He is honest, and responds in a timely manner when you need to reach him. His office staff are professional and I never felt like anything except a valued client. I found Geoff by referral after having a nightmare experience with another lawyer, and was already jaded by the legal process. Geoff took a complex situation and worked through it diligently until the situation was reasonable for both myself and my ex. We had never wanted to have an adversarial relationship, and Geoff preserved that for us. Thank you Geoff! Geoff Platnick and his partner Scott represented me in my contentious divorce. Geoff's errors in judgment, lack of foresight and difficulty with straightforward legal writing tasks were amongst the biggest failures in representing me. I paid him and his firm almost eight-hundred thousand dollars. And for this steep fee, he recommended that I sign a child support agreement that included both a percentage of income clause and a definition of income. Unfortunately, Geoff failed to include provisions that would apply to my ex-wife resulting in a lopsided, inequitable child support payments. This one mistake caused me to pay approximately 100k more than was reasonable under the circumstances. Astonishingly, the large fee payments were not enough for Geoff and the firm's financial planners. Instead, Geoff and his firm sued me for 30K in fees on work I had never requested. Arrogant and a poor listener; if he treats other clients in the way he treated me, they will find out that not only is his representation expensive its is also costly. Do not take the risk here, there are many other capable lawyers to choose from.

Mr Platnick overbilled me by multiple hours each month. He hid from a subpoena from my ex wife making him look like a weasel tomthw court. His firm pre dated mail to opposing counsel and was caught doing so by the courts. I was charged over 200,000 by his firm and I lost. He is a weasel of a human.

Geoff is a great lawyer. I really enjoyed working with him. He is approachable, understanding, and very knowledgeable. He makes his client feel comfortable communicating with him. He would make the time for his client when they are was worried, frustrated, and in need to communicate. He is a good listener and he gave good advise. Geoff served as my daughter's Best Interest Attorney (BIA) in my custody case. Geoff matched and exceeded his title because all of his actions in the case were based on the best interests of my daughter. Geoff spend a lot of time with my daughter (with me, with my ex-wife, and in the school setting) and he really understood her. Prior to Geoff's involved I had a challenging relationship with my ex-wife that may have had a negative impact on my daughter (she was in Kindergarten at the time). With Geoff's help, my ex-wife and I modified our co-parenting to ensure that we both had the best interests of our daughter with all of our interactions. Today, my ex-wife and I have a fantastic co-parenting relationship and my daughter is thriving - she is a happy child who is doing very well in school and in life. I appreciate Geoff's focus on the best interests of my daughter and I highly recommend Geoff to serve as a BIA in your custody case.
