Cieplak Dental Excellence

I visited the office in Oxon Hill due to intensive wisdom tooth pain. When arrived, I was greeted by his dental assistant ( she was super sweet and nice. she talked me through my anxiety, and stayed by my side ) Dr. Cieplak walked inside room, I shared with him that I suffer from dental anxiety. Instead of speaking encouraging words and giving reassurance, he only bragged about his awards and told me the treatment that I needed was a “small fry” to him and either I get it done or I don’t. The nice dental assistant told me that they offered mild sedation in their LaPlata office if I would opt to go there! Once I arrived at the LaPlata office, I sat in my car until it was my turn to go in. (COVID policy) As I got inside the exam room, the dental hygienist and another dental assistant came in. No introduction or anything. She leaned my chair back and told me to open my mouth so I can get a cleaning. As she started my teeth, she had a series of coughs, non stop. It was only until I moved my head that she got up and continued to cough outside the exam room. When she came back in, she proceeeded to finish with the same exact cough. I then tilted my head again, and she removed herself. ( as a hygienist, who thinks it’s okay to cough repeatedly while someone mouth is open and you guys are face to face ) Once finished, a new dentist came inside and examined my mouth to create my dental plan. As she was examining my mouth, she kept asking a series of questions and instead of allowing me to answer, she just answered for me and kept on moving. When I received my dental plan, I asked about sedation. ( the only reason why I came to LaPlata ) I was then told that I would have to get EVERYTHING done on my dental treatment (which was only fill-ins and wisdom teeth removal). I told them I was unable to afford the $7,000 bill they gave me. Could I only get my wisdom teeth removed as that was the reason I came to see a dentist. I was once again told that it was either I get all the treatment plan done or nothing. When asked why, it was stated that it’s his practice he does whatever he wants. I asked what about the patients who have anxiety, and can’t even sit still once the noise of the drill comes on, I was told to find another dentist. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE WHO SUFFERS FROM DENTAL ANXIETY OR DOESN’T HAVE A TON OF MONEY SITTING AROUND TO SPEND IMMEDIATELY

Top tier, 5 stars. Dr. Cieplak has been my dentist for many years and my most recent experience this week during the COVID situation was amazing. First, I felt lucky to even have a dentist available now, and the precautions in place in his office were so well done, it could likely serve as a model for others. The procedures in place to minimize risk were like I've seen nowhere else. Temperature is taken in a closed entrance way before even entering the office, hand sanitizer is offered, mask required, service limited to one patient at a time, along with other obvious precautions, yet the service by staff and treatment remains friendly, relaxed, and gentle, which has always been characteristic of this practice. Most of all, professional in all respects. New temporary crown fits perfectly. Outstanding experience.

I had dental work done lately, and Dr. Cieplak and his staff were very professional, and nice to me. I've been a patient on and off for a number of years now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Terrible place !!!! I went there they took care of me and said come next week so we make a cleaning I took a day of for the next week I go there and right in the door they tell Me sorry we called you and change your appointment for another date, never got a call but they did something wrong and my teeth start hurting to the point I coudnt eat with that side and call them and got the appointment and when I’m There they said we change your appointment for 2 months wait !!!! I called them And say I’m in pain ,they tell me they will call Me back cause they only working Monday , never got the call and wait for 2 month to get when I arrive I got the new that they change my appointment again without telling me and after arguing they got me in a rush with a very aggressive doctor that you could tell was out of time didn’t get what I went for but at least they fix the problem of pain that I had to take for over 2 month so they told me you have to come other day with excuses he left to run to the other patient that was waiting clearly the other person was more important since they cancel me so many times and took care of me cause I lost it either way never ever had a dentist that was so aggressive on you like you don’t feel , I thought That the first time I went and I am sure was same second time they very irresponsable with the appointments and very sneaky to change them as a plus place is dirty if I could put 0 star I would do it
