Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute at Odenton

Don't waste your time. First the front desk staff don't report the issue you are requesting appt for. Then they usually just refer you to johns hopkins hospital and the ophthalmologist I saw there was about as good as the care I received in the odenton office not to mention it is in the most unsafe part of town. Find yourselves a good ophthalmologist elsewhere that won't just pass the buck. They might be good if you need eyeglasses but that's about it.

I am currently sitting in the waiting room where there is a sign saying you are not allowed to have phone calls in the clinic, and one of the staff members is currently on a personal call in another room but you can hear her very clearly yelling at what seems to be her child for answering the phone disrespectfully. She was at one point directing said child on how to make a breakfast sandwich with intermittent scolding in between. It just seems very unprofessional, and quite frankly awkward to have to listen to while waiting.

I am absolutely appalled, and disgusted by the indifferent treatment received by the clinic manager on Friday. To make matters worse, the acting Director put her hands on me 3x. I asked her not to touch me, she continued to put her hands on my shoulder. My appointment was canceled due to short staffing that the clinic manager was rude, aggressive, and indifferent in her treatment, the way she spoke to me, and her angry loud voice tone. Still awaiting a response from the Advocacy department. Shameful that this is acceptable, and my life and health has to suffer.

After many attempts to schedule an appointment, and after being on hold for over a half hour, I drove out to the Odenton office. When I got to the head of the line, I was told by the receptionist, quote, "It is not my job to make appointments", and was sent packing. I then went to a different eye care center. After a thorough eye examination the new ophthalmologist was astonished that the Wilmer ophthalmologist had never prescribed special eye drops for my condition. Conclusion: At all cost, avoid Wilmer.
