Morris McNeil Paving Contractor LLC

This review is for a residential new asphalt installation. Morris was pleasant to work with, on time, gave a better (and bigger) product than promised, had clean professional equipment, good positive hardworking employees, and ran a clean job site. As a project manager, I’ve managed many facility and maintenance projects at my place of work and he is one of the best contractors I’ve used. His quote was also very competitive, kept his contract and price, and product seems to be delivered as promised. I plan to use him in a year or two to resurface a different existing driveway. I will update this review after the asphalt has cured and have driven on it.

First time using Morris McNeil. We called to get our driveway sealed. Mr. McNeil was very courteous and did what he said he was going to do. Price was competitive and their work was very nice. I would use them again.

We moved from Massachusetts five years ago and were in need of a paving contractor to resurface our five-year old driveway that had numerous low spots (where water collected every time it rained and cracks that just kept getting worse, even though I patched them quite regularly). Yeah, the driveway was only five-years old, but then, that's a story for another day! I'd seen Morris McNeil's Paving Contractor advertisement in the Delaware State News and decided to call and get a price quote. Morris responded to my request in a very timely manner, gave me a written quote upon his review of my driveway, and further explained what he intended to do to satisfy my driveway dissatisfaction. I did obtain another price quote from another "local" company (had to wait several days for that email quote) and it was $1100 above Morris' quote. I opted to go with Morris. They came out a day before to do some prep work, then accomplished the driveway resurfacing. The driveway looks fabulous, Morris and crew were very professional, and we had a driving rain last night and there were NO PUDDLES on my driveway. List me as a very satisfied customer. I must say this first. I have not used this company for paving or for any other services that they offer. So with that in mind I cannot give a proper review. This review is based on an experience I had while driving down a back road Darling Farm Rd. I was driving down that road headed towards Fox Hole Rd. I noticed on the left side of the road there was a black Ford truck pulled over, there is no shoulder on this road so the truck had both of its left tires on the road and the other side was in the grass. On the right side of the road was a trailer with cones around it, also in part of the road. Both the truck and the trailer where parked almost across from each other creating a narrow space for cars to go though. As I approached I noticed a man standing on the side of the road next to the black truck. It appeared that he saw me but I do not know this for sure. I was very close to the truck and at the last second the man decided to open his driver side door ALL THE WAY open to let someone out. It caused me to have to slam on my breaks so that I did not hit the truck on my left and the trailer on my right. When I passed by the man with a dirty look on my face he looked at me with a smirk on his face, as to appear to me that he found it funny that I had to slam on my breaks. I had my husband, my 9 year old daughter and 18 month old son in the car. The fact that he found it funny to risk an accident and possible put someone else’s and his life at risk made me want to write this review. I hope the person driving this black Ford truck with T-tags on it is not the owner. As an employee/manger/owner whomever he was, he should realize he is representing this company while driving or parking this truck with your company name written on the back window. He should hold himself with a little more self awareness and he should care how he is representing your company.
