We first worked with Cathy and Brock Chapman when we decided to sell our old townhouse in late 2017. We contacted Signature Home Sales because their listings were the fastest-moving sales in our area (Damascus) and the photos were beautifully staged. We had no regrets about our choice as they advised us on the best bang-for-the-buck renovations, put us in touch with a great and affordable contractor, and even provided complimentary furniture and decorations for staging. The effort paid off as we had multiple offers within 24 hours, all above our asking price. Based on our recommendation, Brock subsequently helped my father-in-law sell his father's home, and that process went as smoothly and efficiently as our own sale.
When we finally started passively looking for a new house again last fall, I immediately contacted Brock and told him what our price range and requirements were. For a couple weeks, he patiently showed us a lot of potential homes while refining his search parameters based on our slightly wishy-washy and evolving requirements (did we want to live out in the woods? Maybe walking distance from nightlife?). Then my wife spotted a RedFin listing less than 20 minutes after it had gone live, and it checked off all of our boxes - excellent location in Gaithersburg, view of woods with trail access, back yard for dogs, reasonably priced with lots of useable space. We immediately contacted Brock who scheduled us for a showing the next morning. It was evident when we pulled up that there would be many offers on day one, and that we had competition. We also knew we had to win the bidding war. Brock not only helped us craft a bid that seemed to have a good chance of winning, he put us in touch with a lender that day (we weren't exactly prepared with a loan approval) who turned around conditional approval docs within 24 hrs. As it turns out, we beat 6 other offers to win what is pretty close to our dream home.
I think we'll be staying put for a long time so I doubt I'll have occasion to put Brock to work for us again, but I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell a house in Maryland. You're unlikely to find anyone more on-the-ball, responsive, and knowledgeable about every aspect of the process.
