Barry Bragg has been my insurance agent for over 20 years. His customer service is outstanding. He is the only insurance agent my family has used that has been transparent on pricing, our needs and genuinely cares about our family. So much so, I have passed Barry down through two other generations of our family and he now insures my children and our grandchildren. He is responsive, both by phone and email. A one day turn around is expected in his industry as I am sure he receives a plethora of emails on a daily basis (not sure what Sung Kim was referring to) but I would recommend Barry to any and all of our friends. He's a rare agent in a sea of many options.

I've had Allstate insurance for about 15 years, but recently I found out that I've been paying significantly higher premium for home/auto insurance. State Farm commercials always left me with good impression, so I tried to get quotes from the company. State Farm gave me the best quotes online and looked very promising. Progressive came close though (~$100 difference per 6 months), and it was fully online based, and allowed me to pretty much get the quote and sign up on the spot. But, I wanted to go with State Farm, so I initiated the process online. State Farm soon referred me to Barry, who got back about couple business days after (I sent email on Thursday, he got back to me on Monday). His response was alway curt and annoyed, like he was unhappy I am giving him work to do. His email responses were always late as well and often asked same thing I'd answered over and over. He didn't seem to check his emails often and never picked up his phone. I patiently communicated via email over one week to get the quote on auto-insurance to bundle with my home ins. Because email communication was so painful with him, I called him many many times to talk to him directly on the phone. He never ever picked up the phone. After over a week and too many emails back and forth, he asked me about an accident that my sister-in-law got into in her own car. I explained at least twice that my brother and I are both adults, we live at separate residences with separate wife and kids, and we have no legal relationship other than the familial ties. I explained this to him at least twice in the email that took a day for him to respond to. He rambled on something about State Farm's database is vast and incredible invasive, and insisted he needs to hear more about my brother's family probably so he can make State Farm's database even more intrusive and violating. The accident was a simple fender bender with a parked car, it wasn't hard to explain, but i felt he was crossing the privacy boundary - they had their car and home insurance carried by Geico anyway, it had nothing to do with State Farm - I never understood SF's annoying obsession. Anyway by this time I had enough of this terrible excuse for an insurance agent and told him to forget about the auto-insurance. At this point, I filed an online complaint with State Farm requesting that I be assigned a new agent. But I never heard back from State Farm regarding my request for a different agent. This got me thinking, if I have this much difficulty dealing with the insurance company at sign up, how much trouble would I be facing if I was actually filing a claim. Barry never picks up the phone and it takes him days for an email response, I'll be stuck with who knows what down the line. Allstate at least had excellent and responsive agents. Couple hours later, I called Progressive and signed up with their insurance within about 20 minutes, both auto and home. I know that most other State Farm agents are way better than this man, in fact I contacted another State Farm agent just prior to signing up with Progressive (it's been a week and a half by this point, and I just had enough.) The other agent (Jada Lee) emailed me at least three times and gave me her cell phone number to call. But it was too little too late as I'd already signed up with Progressive. Avoid this agent at ALL COST. He's probably just very unhappy with his job and counting days till his retirement. I'd gladly pay higher premium to avoid this agent.
