This is Gabriel's first year with Connection Academy and I have to say I am very pleased with the result. He is doing so much better than he did at his old school, I think that is due to the time we spend learning his lessons. We talk about what he is learning and if I don't know an answer to a question he may have then we can both find the answer. Gabe has always struggled with math ( what child hasn't), this structure of learning allow me to sit with him and explain why a problem's equation is structured the way it is, this allows him really understand the dynamics of math. Connection Academy allow Gabriel the freedom of scheduling his time and not be tied down to a timed classroom.

As an educator for the past fifty years I can truly say that I am pleased with the instructional program at SC Connections Academy. The instruction addresses all learning styles and ability levels in ways that interest children. There are even learning/teaching tips for instructional coaches to use while students are expanding their knowledge of a particular skill.
Since I have been affiliated with SCCA, teachers are consistent with contact. Im very pleased.

There is a learning curve to the website that is quickly overcome. The stress my son felt those first few days, learning how to navigate the various web pages, is nothing compared to the stress he feels in a noisy crowded classroom. He has a hard time concentrating.
The Pro's of online learning are many: flexible schedule (if the student can't make a class, i.e. live lesson, they can watch the recording), there are no bus rides (wasted commute time), every teacher has "office hours" where a student can spend one-on-one time with the teacher, and there are no snow days. When the brick and mortar students are how playing in the snow my son will be getting out a day earlier. He likes that best of all.
