I was in Hopes Horizon almost 5 years or so ago. I can say it was the best program I was in. And I was in a lot of them for about 18 months during my period of addiction. The staff were always great, patient and all the houses were spotless. Im not sure how it is financially now for clients, but it was hard for me to make the housing payments because I couldnt find work. Maybe thats changed a bit now though? It was the only program that I truly feel really helped me a lot. Ive been clean almost 5 years now and will always be grateful for this agency.

Im writing this review for a close friend, as they do not want any backlash. They went to this facility for detox / treatment & they had what they thought was a food relationship with most of the staff but felt like that was just a show since they left they havent heard back from a single sole!l Their main complaint though and what they REALLY want people to know and think about is the detox process. This is not an individualized process first and foremost! The providers offer everyone 2 medications (clonidine and hydroxyzine) and you will NOT receive medications until that evening no matter when you do your intake and possibly not until the next or following days. You also are not given any time to just detox! You are required to come to the center each and every day so be prepared to be sick and riding in an overfilled van with a ton of others while sick! You are required to sick in group all day while sick and walk to NA meetings almost every evening, while sick! They also really push suboxone and they did not go to detox to have to go through detox again and if you refuse that medication, you will lose your other medications often referred to as comfort medication. You do not have full access to any medical professionals as your house manager who is also in recovery and sometimes only 6 months clean or on maintenance themselves, have full access and control of your medications. You can only see a non-compassionate nurse once a day while at the center and only the first couple days. The providers are kind and compassionate but they dont see you in person, only via video calls and they dont seem to have a lot of control or possibly a lack of understanding which happens in many places unfortunately. Just be prepared and they do say ambulatory detox services which technically means outpatient detox but they should consider changing how they work their detox procedures because this is almost every addicts worst nightmare! Not many folks in withdrawal can cook, clean, ride around, sit in a chair all day, wait for hours for minimal medications. Everyone should know what theyre getting into. Dont be fooled because almost every company like this only cares about the money.

Hope's Horizon saved my life without a doubt. I came to them alone, hopeless, and broken with no worldly possessions. They lifted me up until I was able to stand on my own. I have since completed their program, and was hired as a PHP house manager for them. Shortly after they hired me as a Behavioral Technician. I have since been promoted to the position of Clinical Aide and I am able to help all the clients who are striving to better themselves and their lives through sobriety & this program. I spend my days full of gratitude and try to help as many lost souls as possible. I will be forever grateful to this establishment, and the employees who make it the incredible life saving portal to sobriety that it is. Their new client intake times are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. until just before 3:00 p.m. They do NOT accept new clients (intakes) over the weekend unless special circumstances require a client entering the program from a hospital or other state facility.

Hi David, sorry you feel that way. We try our hardest to give the very best care to our clients. We have the nicest residential licensed housing in the county. Was there something that we could do better? I’m not saying your argument is irrelevant, we just want some clarity and possibly some input on what we could do better?Thank you and have a nice day.

Melissa, thank you for posting your review. One thing that you need to understand is, the Dr. sets the protocol. Just because you have another Dr. that prescribes medication, doesn’t mean that our Dr. will feel comfortable prescribing them to you. Most people are on many medications when they come in and some of them are narcotics. There isn’t a treatment facility that will allow you to keep using narcotics when entering a program. Second, this is an out patient program so your friend could always live at home or with another family member or friend during this process. The fact that they want to stay in our housing means that you you may not have many other options. When living under our roof, you follow our rules. If you do not like the way we structure our program, you can always stay at home or wherever you were living before you came in. We provide a stable living arrangement, food and transportation to get you through your day. I hope your friend finds what they are looking for in a program that allows the client to run the staff.
