After pulling up the website and finding that their hours are until 6pm, i called the salon at 5:18 requesting to book an appointment for a quick brow wax. i asked if there was still time (i was literally across the street at AAMC) and she informed me that no, she was getting ready to leave. I mentioned that the store hours are listed until 6 and she replied "yeah, but i'm the only person here and i'm getting ready to leave." she did ask if i would like to instead come in on Wednesday. Poor customer service.

I have been to this store twice. First time was a very pleasant experience. Got a mini facial and make over and was very happy with the service. The second time, I went back for a make up application/makeover. Got to my appointment on time and asked to wait for Lisa (the president) who was going to do the makeover for me. Lisa come out from the back a few minutes later complaining of how she needed a 10 min rest after dealing with the previous customer (who was still in the back), despite me sitting there right in front of her. She then goes on and on saying how this client "has a type A personality" and how she kept asking "for more and more services". Keep in mind this was all said with a tone that suggested Lisa was very annoyed with this customer. I just think that complaining about a customer in front of another customer should always be a no-no. So then the other staff tells her I am there for a makeover and that I was her next appointment. Lisa (without even looking at me) says: "you can do her, she is just here for a makeover". It felt so awkward and disrespectful. Barbara the other lady who was very kind and is probably used to Lisa's lack of professionalism, told me she will take care of me and she did. I have read bad reviews before about a staff member at this location. Not sure if it was about Lisa, but she is definitively somebody in need of basic customer service training, and maybe some personal work to brighten up her mood. I have to say tho, that I like their products and might go back JUST for that but probably not for services.

Bought a living social to get facials here for my grandmother's birthday. Last minute, my grandmother fell and was in the hospital for over a month following. When we called to cancel the appointment we were not called back. We recently tried to reschedule the appointment and were treated with utter disrespect by a despicable employee who told us we were an inconvenience--because our GRANDMOTHER fell. I have never been more disgusted by a lack of human empathy in my life. Would never recommend to anyone and their establishment does not deserve any business in the future. Truly a disappointing customer service experience, but even more so a disappointing example of human kind. Merle Norman's management should be extremely embarrassed.

A co worker and I were given gift certificates for this spa by our boss .We were so happy to get a chance to relax and de-stress . I called a few days before we wanted to go . I made an appointment for Wednesday at 3pm .The girl I spoke with on the phone asked what we wanted to have done , i told her that i new we both wanted massages and facials and we would go from there when we arrived . We got there about 20 min late for our appointment due traffic , the owner met us at the door and scolded us for being late . We asked to see a service/price list so we could decide what to get as we wanted to use the full amount of the gift certificates , she refused to show us one , looked over the gift certificates and told us what our options were . We each got an hour long message , a facial , and have our make up done .The owner was kind of rude to us , she told us right off the bat that there is a 20% tip that must be paid . It was not stated anywhere on the gift certificates , she said that it was their policy .Being that my co worker and I are both restaurant managers we were going to tip , however a tip is based on the quality of service provided , making us pay a flat tip rate before we even started is crazy. Again she was very rude in the way she was talking to us . The message was OK , not bad , but not the best . The Facial was great , by the time I was set to get my makeup done it was 7 pm , which is the time they closed , the make up artist made a point to say she had to stay late and kind of rushed . The make up was not good , Ive had better done at the mall .Now here's the kicker , upon going home and telling my husband what happened he said I should go on line and check the prices to make sure we got to use the full amount of the gift certificates , and as he suspected we did not , that must be why she would not give us a price list when we asked to see one .We will NEVER go back here , as I do not enjoy being talked down to , taken advantage of , and ripped off .My boss says that he got these passes from a barter program that she is a part of. She has violated the spirit of the barter program and insulted us. He owns the restaurant and is not one to get cheated. I am upset but she should be more concerned with his response. By the way the boss paid the tip. What a great guy.Do not use this spa.
