Hell Point Seafood

Excellent MD seafood in dockside downtown location. I'll go again!

I havent had seafood so good in probably twenty years! My wife and I decided to try Hell Point after hearing about it from an article in The Capital. Boy were we happy we went. The wine was perfectly matched to our courses and the service was exceptional.One of the head chefs even came out to greet us. My wife wanted to make sure to posted this comment to counteract all of the negative reviews they got on here. I am not sure if these people went to the same Hell Point as we did, because we were so impressed we made another reservation for our weekly date night next Thursday.

My husband and I stopped here with friends prior to a sail on the Chesapeake. We had dinner reservations for after the sail and wanted to have a quick drink and snack before boarding. I had an excellent bloody Mary and a bowl of delicious cream of crab soup, spiced with what was quite possibly the worst and most insulting treatment I have ever received at the hands of service personnel. The child who was supposed to be the hostess was officious, rude, disrespectful, and actually shouted after us as we went up the stairs to use the restroom (the one in the bar was out of order.) After our sail, we took our appetites elsewhere and spent $300 on a fantastic meal at Middleton Tavern.

I had a great experience at Hell Point. Our food was great, the waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere was very nice. On top of that, the prices were reasonable considering quality of food. I am not sure how so many people could have had a bad experience at this place. I personally think it is one of the better seafood restaurants in town.
