YRC Freight

Picked up a freight delivery at the Westbrook terminal. The shipment had arrived on Thursday (based on tracking info), but I didn't hear from the terminal until Monday about scheduling a pickup. When I had called the YRC customer service earlier, I was told I could pick up the delivery anytime during business hours. However, this is not the case, the Westbrook terminal has specific pick up times and needs to be confirmed with the terminal. Pick up was smooth and efficient and the fork lift operator did a nice job loading a 1500lb package onto my trailer. Everyone I interacted with were nice.

Horribly run company. First, my order was late supposedly due to weather ( no weather issues all week). Now tracking has said it has been loaded on the truck for delivery for days. Customer service contacted the local office and they said they don't know why it hasn't gone out and they will "try to deliver it tomorrow ". Wish I could give 0 stars. Stay away from this company, just check the other 1 star reviews.

I understand its the holidays, I understand it's crazy, I understand it's COVID, but my shiptment is over a month late, no details provided on when the delivery will happen, and after sitting on hold for 20 minutes for customer service, there is a sneaky, pre-recorded message that is supposed to sound like a real person saying they cannot hear you and to call back, and it immediately hangs up on you. Absolutely disgusting experience.

YRC was supposed to call me prior to delivery, they did not, once I saw delivery was coming without being scheduled I called (45min on hold) to let them know no one would be there to accept delivery, they said they would note that and it wouldn't be delivered without signature, a lie. They dropped off the package with no signature, box completely destroyed and the contents destroyed as well... I didn't pick shipping and the shipper with make this right, but I'm sharing this so hopefully anyone who sees this will chose ANYONE else for their shipping needs.

Had a veneer company ship a small pallet of stone veneer to us 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to arrive here 10 days ago and never did. The veneer company called YRC and a fellow named Dave said it was here in town and had been for 10 days and he didn't know why it hadn't been delivered to us yet. He promised to look into it. I called Dave a day later and waited on hold for 30 minutes. Dave still couldn't give me any answers and asked me if I needed a box truck to which I responded that the veneer company had requested a lift gate He said we have tractor trailers and box trucks with lift gates. I responded you could just send a box truck, thinking that might be easier for them. Dave responded, "Well that's the problem we only have one and they're booked ahead days in advance." This company is bizarre and scattered and don't seem to know what they're doing.
