Downeast School Of Massage

The Downeast School of Massage is one of the few schools in the country still taught and run by its founder. Nancy Dale, with over forty years' experience as a massage therapist, educator and director, and mentor, is also the co- author of several textbooks, including the "Manual of Kinesiology," which is used in class. During my full time year with them as a student, I was grateful for the expert teaching of successful leaders in the industry, an organized curriculum and an overall environment of integrity, safety, healing and professionalism. Our class received a top- notch education in physiology with a focus on soft tissue and fascial science and manipulation, and comprehensive training in massage therapy technique. Additionally, the school equipped us with a strong foundation of body mechanics, healthy posture, professional boundaries and self care so we could take this career well into the future without burnout. As a practicing therapist, I continue to hear that Downeast graduates are some of the best educated and equipped massage therapists out there. So grateful to Nancy and all the staff and instructors at Downeast, and grateful to be part of this community.

Every person there is highly knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. I cannot recommend this school enough. They truly get excited about what they are teaching, and that gets you excited about learning.
