image We had a wonderful time at the Inn for a family wedding. The accommodations were remarkable and the venue spectacular.
I loved having a home of our own rather than a hotel or several rental homes. Im so happy the bride and groom chose The Inn!

image My husband and I got married at the 1774 Inn in August 2023 and to say our wedding weekend was magical would be an understatement! Its that magic that you get when you choose the historic 1774 Inn as your venue.
Bottom line: The 1774 Inn is your venue if you want a personalized, charming wedding-weekend experience in a picturesque location, supported by a caring and talented team.
Long Version:
We stumbled upon the Inn online and decided to send an inquiry. From the first email exchange with the incredible Marianne Vold, who would later become our planner, more on her later, we knew we had found something special. And once we went out to tour the property, we knew we found the place.
As for the property itself, the 1774 Inn is a historic property that has somehow maintained its original charm despite its modern updates. Additionally, the Inn is nestled between property owned by the same duo, which gives you and your guests privacy and space to celebrate the weekend away.
As for the team, you cannot find better. Sarah and Stuart, the husband and wife duo who own the Inn, are welcoming, kind, and truly care about the couples and their guests. From the cleaning crew to maintenance, everyone who works at the Inn truly wants you to have the best experience and will go out of their way to make sure you have it. And last, but certainly not least, Marianne. The best thing you can do for your wedding experience is to work with Marianne. Marianne has an incredible amount experience in the wedding industry that she channels into helping you create your dream wedding. All of my guests had a Marianne story" - a sweet exchange with her that felt so noteworthy and special to them that they wanted to share it with us. We get it - we have many of our own!
As for the experience itself, my husband and I chose to have an intimate wedding of only 35 guests. I note this to say that the Inn can be a home to an event of any size. While the Inn has been the venue for many large and beautiful weddings, our petit event fit just as well.
One of our beloved guests put it best, When I tell you every spare second this week my brain has started daydreaming about the pure magic that was [this] wedding Hands down the most beautiful, intimate, romantic, Pinterest worthy, dreamy wedding I have ever been to! It was such an honor to share in your special day. I will never be over this wedding!
You deserve the same - book the 1774 Inn (and Marianne, if you can), you wont regret it.

image You've never heard of Phippsburg or the 1774 Inn? That's exactly how you want it. This small, historic inn on BEAUTIFUL property right along the Kennebec River is the perfect spot for weddings of any size, but truly the best for a small group of 30-40 of your closest friends and family.
From the moment my now-wife and I walked through the barn (with tables and chairs still arranged from the previous night's wedding) out to the view of the lawn and river, we knew this was our spot. Then, we took the rest of the tour and learned all about the history and enjoyed the enthusiasm that Stuart, one of the owners, had for the Inn.
Fast forward 14 months of planning, made SO much more pleasant and less stressful byMarianne Vold (our planner and Inn whisperer), and we had a day light-years better than we could even dream about. Marianne's insights into other celebrations of all shapes and sizes were invaluable, and her regular check-ins helped us feel at ease and excited to be getting married at the Inn. Her own excitement for the Inn and our weekend really shined when our guests arrived for the weekend on Thursday (the value of having the whole weekend here cannot be understated) and showed them around. Having Sarah and Stuart stop by to say hello was a nice touch at the end of the night, and the neighbors shooting off fireworks added even more magic. We can't wait to go back and visit & spend another night (or more) in the Hayloft Suite.
For the grooms reading this: They've got every kind of coffee maker you can think of, the room you'll be staying in has A/C, and even in August it was cool enough at night that not having A/C in every room wasn't a problem for everyone else. There's cornhole and a fire pit,and you can bring a foodtruck. Oh, and go watch Blow The Man Down on Amazon Prime.
