These folks are very helpful, and their prices are very reasonable. They have air-dried hardwoods and pine, as well as rough-cut, trailer decking, and mulches and such as well. An old-fashioned and friendly local sawmill. Don't forget they are cash and check only.

Ripoff. They have changed their policy for dropping off brush, it now costs $10 for a pickup or small trailer load. Up until last October it was FREE. The explanation I received is "we're doing it because everyone else does" WRONG ANSWER. That has to be the worst reason for diminishing customer service in the world. They take the brush, logs and anything else that gets thrown in that pile, grind it up and sell it as bark mulch. So there is no end to their greed, and they're no longer providing a good service to the local area. During a time when lumber prices have doubled, along with a lot of other prices increasing, you would think that a place who's whole business is lumber would be doing everything they could to attract customers. Well they just lost this customer. I am planning to build a shed, and with the lumber prices currently what they are I am going to buy local instead of going to the big box stores. Oakwoods was one of the companies I was considering buying my lumber from, NOT NOW. In fact I won't be taking my brush there any more either. I will be doing more burning in my back yard now. My experience has been when a small business does small thing to help out the people and the community they are in, those people have a tendency to go to those businesses when they have big projects and they're looking to spend more money, if Oakwoods continues to provide this kind of lousy customer service it won't be long before their business is in trouble.
