        Great hangout in Machias- good beer selection and better than average pub food and a place for locals. Lots of heads and maritime decor on the walls, and plenty of pool tables. Update: 9/21/2021 Still a great place- service and food excellent. Best club sandwich ever! Great vibe and everything.

        Moved here a few months ago and hadn't tried this place yet. My husband and I finally decided we would go and check it out. The waitress/bartender was nice, but clearly has an attention issue. Was repeatedly busy talking with friends (?) while I waited. Maybe I should have yelled. But it wasn't loud. We ordered fish and chips and fried chicken. The chicken was ice cold in the middle. She asked if I wanted it put back in the fryer for a few minutes. Thinking that was really unsanitary, I just asked her to microwave it. She literally came back in less than a minute. Still cold. Playing pool was a nice break. I don't understand why they keep the cue balls behind the bar, but it didn't bother me too much. Bothered the waitress a bit when I brought the ball back. I disturbed her again. On a plus side, my husband said his beer was good.
