I will start by saying that I will not ever be going back to this restaurant and suggest future patrons to avoid this establishment. I will always take my business to The Homestead for a nice sit down meal or McDonald's if I'm in the mood for a burger. I have never had the worst service or experience in any restaurant as I have had this evening here. To start, we pulled into a not heavily filled parking lot. Not counting the pub half, there was only one party of five eating on the first deck I saw. As we walked into the dining room portion, there were zero patrons sitting there. We were not greeted. Instead, we had to ask politely to be seated and asked if we could sit in the balcony area. We were seated with only a party of two next to us and a party of four about to leave. We were told our waitress would be there shortly. She was not. In fact, the hostess didn't even bring out our waters until 5 minutes had passed. 13 minutes after we drank the majority of our water and had been ready to order did our waitress finally make her first appearance. We ordered an appetizer sampler, a Reuben sandwich, a vegetarian pasta dish and waited. Five minutes pass and our waitress returns to inform me that the kitchen ran out of Reuben sandwiches. I decide on a California burger, cooked medium, instead. She says okay and walks off. About five minutes pass and a party of 4 - along with a young child - is sat next to us. They were extremely disappointed to hear that everything - and I mean everything - they were hoping for were out. From what I understand, the business was out of an appetizer called zingers, all steak, fried green beans, lobster bisque, and had just ran out of burgers. Apparently my burger was the last. They asked for a round of Alagash White on tap, a made in Maine brew, and they were out. When expressing their disappointment, all they received for feedback back was "our boss is in vacation." NOT an excuse. As we waited patiently for our food, our waitress only returned once to the party of two as they flagged her down and asked about dessert. We didn't see her for another 25 minutes, in which time the hostess only came out once to refill waters, skipping our table. When our waitress did finally return, she had our entrees with her. She placed them down and said she would be right back with our appetizer. Mind you, we ordered them first. The food quality was extremely subpar in relation to the price point of the menu. The pasta dish was scarce of vegetables. She asked for mushrooms to be added, only to receive three slices of mushrooms inside the dish. There was little flavor as the sauce was hardly there. It did look pretty good from where I was sitting. As for my burger, I received it cooked well done. It was lukewarm at best. I observed that it had to have been sitting a decent amount of time as the cheese was starting to solidify again. The french fries were overcooked and cold. The appetizer came out 13 minutes after our main course and after we had finished eating. We immediately asked for it to be boxed and for the bill as we had completed eating. She put our food down, took another tables order and came back for the appetizer. She boxed it up in three small boxes as she explained they were out of large boxes. As we were leaving, I stopped to explain our situation to the hostess. We were told "I will pass on the message." I did not feel that my message had been genuinely heard. I proceeded to ask her what would be done for the experience we had and she offered to go ask. Upon returning, she explained the very BEST they could offer on our $47 bill was half off the appetizer. That came out to $6.50 off an appetizer we didn't even get to eat nor will be able to enjoy. A $40 experience I never want to experience again.
