Zachary Moffett cut off contact after he received payment, including refusing delivery of certified mail with the legal papers he needed to undertake my case. I have filed a formal complaint with the Bar Association. Thank Heavens I paid with a credit card and got a refund from American Express.

I paid him a hefty retainer to set up an irrevocable trust for my elderly mother. He told me it would take two weeks. Almost four months later, it's excuse after excuse, including: the courts are slow during the Holidays, having the flu, bad weather in Shreveport preventing him from getting to his office, and his favorite: simply not answering. Then when he finally did send me something, it was not what we had discussed, so obviously he'd forgotten the details during the almost four months he spent not doing anything. If this is the sort of service you're looking for from a lawyer, then by all means throw your money away on this latter-day Oliver Wendell Holmes.

I am shocked in his ability to practice law; extremely disappointed with Zachary; he has done absolutely nothing for 9 months but make excuses; no communication whatsoever; dishonest & unethical; I have numerous emails proving this; seems like I am not the only person that feels this way.

I would give zero stars if possible. I hired Mr. Moffett on March 2, 2018 to handle a non-contested divorce. Almost a year later, NOTHING has been done. Excuse after excuse given. Had no problem taking my $3,500 but refuses to call clerk of court to get me a court date. With him being a former member of the Louisiana Army National Guard, I felt comfortable choosing him, figuring honor, integrity, and good character would be who he was. However, that isn't the case at all. He does NOT return phone calls or respond to emails. He makes it impossible for you to see him. I feel taken advantage of. That money wasn't just laying around. It was saved and given to basically, a thief. His excuses are he moved offices twice in 2018. Or that he is on vacation, or sick. I have filed a complaint with the Board of Ethics with the Louisiana Bar Association. I will be contacting The Better Business Bureau as well. After that, the media if my case isn't handled. My life has been on hold for a year when this matter could have only taken a few months. Extremely frustrated!
