Blue Light Cafe

This was thee* nastiest "soul food" restaurant I've ever been to. The service was horrible, I spoke to the "waitress" before she spoke to me(even though she stared at me from the door to the counter...awkward). I ordered Pork chops, rice, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. The pork chop was the only thing I could eat. The rice was over cooked. The "macaroni and cheese" was merely elbow noodles, water, and orange/yellow food coloring. The "corn bread" was a fried, cylinder shaped disappointment. Never! Again!

The food was pretty good. The pork chops is their specialty and hot water cornbread. Personally, I enjoyed the cornbread over the pork chops. The chops weren't too greasy but had a texture that I didn't prefer. The only draw at this establishment is the food. The building, interior and exterior, is extremely dated. Virtually no atmosphere! But locals seem supportive as place was busy during lunch.

Bluelight has been one of my favorite places to eat in Ruston for years. I now live in Fort Worth, Texas but when I come home to visit I will NOT leave town until I eat at Bluelight. Great service even better food. Smothered Steak and Hotwater cornbread, That's what's up!! Keith Mitchell Forth Worth, Texas
