Delicious and fun. Beautiful view of the river. Huge container ships went by all night. And a locomotive on the train tracks. The food is good, we had paella, bouillebaise, garlic soup, caldo cerrano , calamari & ceviche de camarones. All were good, I recommend especially with the Chilean cab (root)

everything except the view was disappointing. It was bella luna the last time I was here and this place is NO bella luna. Just pay to go take in the view and then go somewhere else to eat. I now know when you see mixed reviews, it probably means the worse.

We had our Post-Wedding brunch at Galvez. A friend recommended it to me as we were having trouble finding a place to have the Post-wedding brunch the Saturday morning of the first weekend of the Jazz Festival. We didn't want to have the brunch in a hotel as that ambiance would be plain and all hotels are expensive. Anyhow, the universe was looking out for me when I reached out to Galvez. First of all, when you walk into the room it is breathtaking! It is PERFECT for a brunch; really for any event. Floor to ceiling windows on all sides and overlooking the river. Initially, I said to myself I don't care if the food is good or not as the view is amazing. Though the food for out-of-control good!!! All of the guests couldn't stop talking about how it was one of the best brunches they had. Tara was really relaxed and low-key to work with, which was great since I had so many other pressures with the wedding planning. The staff was kind and professional and even let us hang out longer as it started dumping rain right around the time our brunch was ending.
Tara communicated with Harry of New Orleans Classical and Jazz as we hired them for our jazz band trio. Harry and his band were perfect! They added to the beautiful ambiance and energy.
Galvez and the New Orleans Classical and Jazz band were the perfect combo for our Post-Wedding brunch. My [now] husband said we could have had the wedding there. Surely Galvez is a perfect venue for any event!
