My son and I both suffer from allergies to the point of having asthma, and I take allergy shots because mine are horrid. We went to the ER on 4-3-24 because our symptoms were more intense than just seasonal allergies. The two nurses who called us back into the triage area took our vitals, tried to look at our throats with an unsanitary phone flashlight (I told them that my throat was on fire and I was losing my voice), and told us we didn't have COVID by simply looking at us, without any testing. I was told to sign a screening paper to not be charged and we were dismissed without any help. I know my body and have been treating my son and I holistically for over 17 years. So, I proceeded to our primary care doctor on 4-4-24 and I very well have strep throat and a sinus infection, while my son has an upper respiratory infection. Had I not followed my first mind to follow up with our doctor, we would both be walking around feeling even worse and I would have been infecting others unknowingly. No one deserves to be treated the way that we were and I won't ever go back to this hospital's emergency department. I will make that 40 minute drive to our doctor moving forward. A couple of my doctors are a part of the St. Francis group in their own offices, yet I will not return to the actual hospital for treatment ever again. St. Francis, have your non-colored nurses to do better with people of color and give us the same level of care as they would want given to their loved ones. I felt discriminated against, and as someone who has literally destroyed my body to fight for this country while being away from my son and family, I deserved better. I am a 100% totally and permanently disabled US Veteran and just because I make it look good and I look young, doesn't negate the facts. However, even if I wasn't a Veteran, we still deserved better and this organization failed us. Do better by ALL people and stop racially profiling us! If I wasn't suffering from health conditions and actually had the mental fortitude, I would go straight to my VA caseworker and State Senator to pursue a discrimination case. Lucky for y'all, my son is graduating in a few weeks and we are leaving Louisiana soon. So, what little focus I have, has to be on him. However, my family and friends will know to avoid this hospital.

Been awhile since I had updated and they have earned a little more respect but they really have to stop hitting patients up for money when they're in the ER and they don't know what's wrong so my question is the law requires medical treatment but why seek out money from the patients before they even know what's going to happen why can't they just accept insurance that's not enough and they got milk every penny from every person and still they employ staff members that are young enough to barely be out of high school much less hold any kind of experience. Then when you show them you know a little bit about medical treatment and ask about things you feel are important they ignore you. That's not just this place either that's the entire medical practice excluding the real doctors the ones that put in their time the ones working 70-80 hours a week and barely getting the money they deserve if even those are the unspoken heroes whether it be the ER specialist or the psychological specialist I don't think it's right that you have to go through someone you don't trust and probably for a good reason just to get to the specialist that you know and have requested I recommend going as far as getting their numbers and calling to set up a consult if you can. It has it's ups and downs my friend is in agony and crying in pain. They got her back super fast but then we been waiting for what seem like hours now while my friend looks like she gonna die!!

I went to St Francis on Thursday 12/21/2023 at 12:45pm. I had severely cut my left hand on a table saw, my ring finger was completely severed. The moment I arrived everyone was awesome, Im sorry I didnt get any names. The lady at the ER admissions was excellent, she got a couple of nurses immediately and got me into an exam room. The ER Dr, I think it was Dr Crook treated me immediately with compassion and respect. He ended up life flighting me to UNO by helicopter. To the receptionist, the nurses and Dr Crook, thank you for your extreme professional care, I hope I dont have to see you all again, under the same circumstances, BUT THIS GROUP IN THE ER ROCKS.THANK YOU

There needs to be an option where no stars are given. Long wait time. My 2 month old has high fever and is congested. They have me waiting hours to be seen. Very unacceptable. He is wheezing. I guess they do not believe its important for a baby to be seen when its urgent like this. Hes breathing fast. I think they need to get a whole new staff ASAP! Like stated very UNACCEPTABLE.I cant make this up. They do not care enough to see ppl. I dont know what takes them so long to treat ppl. They only working for a check and not to help the ppl that need help. Im so mad. My baby meeds to be seen and Im frustrated and i do not want to wait till tmr for him to be seen. Very Unorganized as well! How ppl that came after me get seen before my son. I dont understand. Need to improve and do better!
