image I was surprised but happy to stop for a while during my trip to New Orleans. They didn't have maps of New Orleans, but that was okay. I explored the rest area and its surroundings. Check out the pictures of the property.

image This is a cool little stop it's not really a trail, but there is a walkway over the water, but it's not very far it's more of a visitor center. But definitely stop by feed the fish and turtles, taking a 5 to 10 min walk around the place get some pamphlets on shows and events. The young lady working was very nice and informative. She gave us bread to feed, but of course, we had to come back with more. There was just so much life in the water. I know we didn't bring enough food.

The Lafayette Visitors Center is a spectacular show of Azalea Flowers each spring in early March. This lovely area was developed in the Gateway to the City of Lafayette and has beautiful landscaping around a serene swamp pond with a boardwalk. The pond is landscaped with Louisiana Cypress trees, several varieties of iris, camellias, purple magnolia trees and live oaks. The Visitor Center located in this gateway is open daily with a wide variety of tourism brochures featuring our city and Louisiana. The center has clean public bathrooms available for travelers daily. The Azalea Trail brochure and Map can be picked up on the brochure racks in this visitor center. Please visit our beautiful website www.azaleatrail.org.
