In Feb. 2012 brought my 99 camaro to this mechanic to have the spark plugs changed, and have the transmission flushed and fluid replaced. While it was there, I also asked if they would check the "check engine" light that had been on since I purchased the car a couple years ago. If it wasn't going to be an expensive fix, I was going to fix whatever was triggering the light. The mechanic called me and told me I needed to repair a sensor, and that should fix the problem. The part was inexpensive so I said go for it. After this the mechanic called me again to tell me that the car was running hot and asked if I had any trouble with this before, I said no and he said OK, several calls later and several different repairs that needed to be done later, the bill was up to 916.00, paid on 3/6/12. I was told the car was ready for pickup. I picked the car up and drove it home, the car was running terribly and when I got home the low engine power light came on and the car began to sputter. I called the mechanic and he asked me to bring it back in. He appolized and said he fired the first mechanic that was working on the car. He said the mechanic didnt know what he was doing. I brought the car back in and he did several more "repairs" to the car and charged me $556.96 paid on 3/20/12. They had the car for several weeks. Finally they called and said the car was ready to be picked up. The mechanic assured me that the car was running great and that if the problem wasnt fixed, I did not have to pay for any of it. I pick the car up and drive it to work the next day. On the way to work the car breaks down leaving me on the side of the road. Again I call the mechanic, He says he will have it towed at his expense to his shop and fix the problem. He has the car towed and tells me that the wires to the alternator have been cut, not by him or his staff, but by someone who must have worked on the car before?!? Never have had any problems with that before, and they have had the car for almost a month now. He charges me for new wires, replaces them, then says that the fuel pump is out, Which I tell him I had replaced a year ago and was running fine. He changes the fuel pump, and tells me the car is ready. Charges me another $280.00. I go to pick up the car, The car is running terrible, the check engine light is on, and there is an awful gas smell in the car. I drive the car home anyway, tired of getting robbed by this mechanic. On the way home the car begins to make a tapping sound. The gas light comes on, so I stop to get gas, the gas runs out from under the car when I fill the tank. The fumes are so aweful and the tapping is so bad, and the car is sputtering and running terribly. So, since my savings have now been depleted from this mechanic, and I have to get to work, I end up parking the car in the yard, and buying a new one. Over a thousand dollars, and I am convinced he has ruined my car.
