Edit: Robin contacted us quickly after I provided this feedback to her and she was understanding and tried to help us understand why our food containers came back empty, etc. We are pleased with the resolution to our concerns and look forward to the next time we can board our dogs with Happy Hounds! -- We boarded our two dogs from the 20th to the 28th of December. When we dropped off, we explained how we marked their food scoops, we clarified with the young lady when we would be picking them up (the system had a different day--no problem), she offered to add baths for both at the end of the stay which we accepted, and we left. When we went to pick them up on the 28th at 10:30am, the young man seemed a bit scattered. Turns out the pickup date wasn't changed, so he wasn't expecting us, the dogs did not get their baths and he didn't have their stuff ready to go. At 10:30 am when we arrived, they had not yet been fed breakfast (what time is breakfast normally served)? they were filthy, and their food containers were empty. We sent at least 3 very full, extra servings of food in those containers for both dogs, which means the line we drew and instructions we wrote on the containers were ignored. Pickles had poop stuck on his butt, and stuck in his hair, and they were both visibly dirty (which dirty we can expect after 8 days playing with other dogs). The young man told us he didn't charge us for the baths (thanks for that - no reason to charge if they didn't get them), and we paid and were on our way. I asked for the owner's/manager's name, he told us Robyn and asked if we wanted her to call us. I said yes please and he said he would leave her a note to do that. It's January 9 and we never received a phone call. We had to stop at Feeder Supply and spend ~$21.00 to do the baths ourselves. Not to mention this also took a significant amount of time and set us back leaving Louisville for our road trip back to Tennessee. We like this place - we don't use them a ton during the year but when we have, we've always had good luck, positive experiences, and the dogs seem to enjoy themselves. I am disappointed in how they dropped the ball on the details. Small details make a difference and they missed them on this stay.

Honestly, I love this place. Why? Because my dog loves it. He pushes me out of the car when we arrive, because he wants to get to daycare so bad. If I say Daycare while we’re home, he whines about not leaving quickly enough, while pointing me to the door, and that to me, speaks volumes. The staff are very friendly, and particularly awesome, and I know my boy is very well cared for at Happy Hounds. I highly recommend you give them a go.
