image Buying a house sight unseen is indeed a risk. The bigger risk is using an agent who is representing both you and her husband's cousin who is trying to unload a house. Intentional misrepresentations were made by an agent who knew we were moving to the area from out of state with a special needs child. We aren't talking about some obscure issue not visible to the casual observer. I clearly and repeatedly asked what the issues were. The old roof and windows were mentioned, a prior flood that supposedly the damage had been repaired from were mentioned. We fully expected there to be work to be done right away. I asked if it was basically in livable condition and was told yes. Repeatedly. We trusted the word of our agent. When we arrived, days ahead of our movers, to open the door to our home, we were slapped in the face with a stench and the floors in more than half the house were soft and spongy. The electric panel buzzed when you turned on the main, hot water heater was not operational and the list goes on. When I brought the matter to her attention we were told she "didn't know it was that bad". We had no choice but to scramble to find a rental in Morehead and have been renting 2 years now while we fix the "livable" house we were sold by this agent. Meanwhile we have had to replace most of the floor joists and subfloor on the first floor, gut the entire bathroom and kitchen, replace every bit of plumbing, every rusty light fixture and still have an extensive list of work to be done including electrical. She did offer to re-list it as is for a reduced commission which we did right away. A near-by neighbor to that house was interested and we had a pending offer, which fell apart. Speaking to the neighbor I learned that she too felt misled by this agent about what was needed and was made to believe the home could be financed. I wasn't going to put all this out this on here but she called when I left a one star rating and then got on here and tried to act like we were stupid and didn't realize there would be work necessary. Do not trust this agent.

image Be weary of homes flipped by this company. They seem to cut A LOT of corners and have misleading information. The home I purchased indicated they were not aware of any water issues in the home and around the property. After speaking with a former owner of the home (wish I would have known BEFORE the purchase) and several neighbors, my house has had water issues after water issues for years. But somehow this company wasn’t aware of them?! Get real. Make sure you get a home warranty with ANY purchase from these people. Or better yet, run. I’ve had water in my basement several times in less than 2 months from faulty/clogged plumbing.
