My brother recently moved into one of the homes operated by Providence of Louisville. I have to say, he has been bounced around most of his life due to one reason or another. I have nothing but praises about this company, the staff and the owner Traci. Only wish we had known about it sooner. The treat my brother with respect and don't look down on him due to his disabilities. They treat him like family. They are even helping him develop skills he has lacked most of his life. They are more than willing to spend their own money if one of the clients needs something. The homes are very welcoming to family. And the other clients have unique personalities that make you want to treat them like family. They are in co stant contact with me. From asking questions to giving updates. Very awesome program!!!!! Hoping they can eventually expand to help other adults in need.

Don’t walk, RUN from this agency. There is a single point of failure: the current Executive Director: Traci Mahorn. We had to do emergency respite to get our family member out of Providence as soon as possible. We are very involved as a family but we consistently got met with resistance from all sides. The ED was sent multiple emails but did not respond to the case worker to set up a home visit; the ED missed the last Plan of Care meeting so no residential goals were set BUT, she made sure to be included on his appointment with the Psychiatrist and made sure to exclude the family even after repeatedly being told by us we wanted to be included. During this appointment that we were excluded on, his medication was increased back to what we decreased at his last appointment in February. So the ED and the doctor undid the progress we made. There is also a higher turnover rate of staff with this agency. If I had to guess why, I would say the ED has a lot to do with it. These are just a few examples and are not all encompassing of our experience with the agency. If they continue to operate under the current leadership and at this level of unprofessionalism, I don’t foresee them being in business much longer. UPDATE: On the very same day, 5/24 my review was posted, the owner requested my information. I provided my name, email address and phone number to the email listed in the review. No one has contacted me to discuss my review as of 6/15. My review stands and also solidifies my point of view of this agency. To anyone reading this review and trying to make a sound decision of where to place your loved one, I hope you choose to go elsewhere. If not, best of luck to you in your dealings with this agency.
