Paige, wait person, was a 5 ,as was the ambience. Had a wonderful corner table(which I requested). Divers scallop dish was memorable. Bread basket was unique. The special, steelhead trout over pasta with a spicy tomato based sauce, was a visual and tasting disappointment. Cookies after dinner was a treat. No sambuca but it's all still sitting in Europe waiting for shipment. July 30,2022- just had another dining experience at Coles. Ricky, our wait person, although very different from Paige, was exceptional . His knowledge of the dishes was very helpful. The open cobia was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented in couscous with grape tomatoes, mushrooms, and shaved asparagus. The lobster bisque was delicious; don't request additional pepper, none is req'd. The chardonnay, Letterwood, was a perfect match for the meal. 3/27/24 Coles remains one of our favorites in lexington. Quiet atmosphere with muted background music, lovely interior (clean ceiling diffusers). Yolanda was a peach of a waitress who took good care of us along with others in support. Lobster bisque seeed a little thin to me, we stand a spoon in it in NE. Divers scallops were fabulous as was the sea bass special. Wine and bourbon list is remarkable. Waited 28 minutes for the cookies and they were not cooked thru. I'd suggest informing clients early in dinner that if they want cookies then order early.

I went to Coles with two friends visiting from out of town. We had a reservation at 8:45 and got our entrees at 10:15. Our server came to the table right away and took one drink order and said hed give us a minute to figure out our other drinks. We didnt see him again for probably 30 minutes. When he came back he tried to tell us about the specials but we were all just ready to order. We ordered and basically never saw him again except to bring the food. I think he may have been drunk, so overall a very disappointing experience. The food was good so it was a shame that the poor service ruined the visit. I attempted to leave a review on OpenTable and was told I couldnt leave a review on our particular reservation, even more bizarre.
