image I surprisingly had a great time. Filled out my form online, made an appointment, signed in when I got here over a link they sent me and within 5 minutes I was called over. Got everything handled in another 10, and that was mostly waiting for the printer. The guard was nice, the lady that I saw had good laugh with me and let me know I'd get my new card in 2 weeks. I'm from San Diego. I'm used to massive SSA offices that handle a lot of cases every day so I was surprised that a state on the middle of the country was run with the same efficiency.

image So lets start this by saying I am a disabled vet who served in 3 wars for this country. I started my son's claim back in 2021 because he is autistic. He has been autistic his whole life and is now 5. It took Mrs knight a year and a half to process his claim. So a year and a half from 2021. So now I am owed back for the time it took her to process the claim. She was very rude when getting info from me and now it is 2024 and I have still not received the back pay. She has input my bank information wrong 4 times now and still have not received a cent of back pay. This place is absolutely ridiculous and should get people there that actually know how to do there job. Phone service is garbage as well.

image If there was an option for zero stars, I would give a zero star rating. I should not have to go in at least twice a month for the past six months and be disrespected by the staff because I have questions about the benefits my children are supposed to be receiving , which the SSA staff has yet to fix. Why does it take 9 weeks to process submitted documents?? I have taken multiple documents for them to scan and they missed half of them, so I have had to take them back 2 additional times. I am also having to show them the letters they send each month and verify the accuracy of the information I have provided against the information they send me in their letters. After being told multiple times by the staff to read the letters (I did read the letters and obviously inaccurate information is why I am here) I was asked multiple times about another document I have repeatedly submitted for my children and I am prepared enough to have a hard copy in my possession to show them yet again. The office staff is not polite, no one has answers to any of my questions, and when I asked about the online App, the staff member told me we dont do that here So I asked if she had a website or number that could help me get assistance with the app and she snarkily replied I already told you we dont do that here
It should not take 6 months, 15 in person visits, and 11 phone calls to STILL have unresolved issues.
